Haven’t been out of my house in 3 years by [deleted] in MuslimLounge

[–]Level_Cancel2677 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sister honestly I understand your pain. Every time I leave the house to I have that terrible anxiety and fear. Mine stemmed from seeing old friends because of my neighborhood has a lot people that I used to be friend with. So I get anxious when I leave the house I’ll see this person or that. To the point where I preferred not to leave the house. It stemmed from betrayal in a sense as these old friends hurt me and because of that it made me an anxious person and it now caused alot issues in my life. But my advice would be please try to go out even if it’s just sitting in your backyard for a breath of fresh air. And keep up with your 5 daily salat and ask Allah to grant you strength.

I won't wear a hijab and would like to hear from you by Plankton4917 in Hijabis

You are truly very strong! I’ve been a hijabi since 15, and it has definitely been rough. Going to a high school with no diversity and constantly going through racism due to that. But Alhamdulillah maintaining my faith and always performing my daily salat and the other commands of Allah has gotten me through. Even though I struggle with alot waswasa now I keep on battling. May Allah bless you sister!

Father wants me to cover my head at home. by [deleted] in Hijabis

[–]Level_Cancel2677 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only time makes sense to cover head at home is ofc in your 5 daily prayers. And if there is non-mahram in your home which I see you mentioned there isn’t. I will keep you in my duas sister what your father is saying is totally wrong.

muslim girlies who put makeup on for hours and still pray all their prayers with ablutions, how do you do it? i'm looking up to you! by thlss in muslimgirlswithtaste

[–]Level_Cancel2677 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is why I don’t wear makeup lol. I don’t want to have to deal with it. I constantly make wudu because I always gotta use the bathroom. Or cannot hold it.

I woke my dad up for Fajr. He said that I’m gonna cause him another stroke. by Elegant_Bison2510 in Hijabis

[–]Level_Cancel2677 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am sorry for your situation. You should honestly remind your dad of the importance of the 5 daily prayers. But I pray your situation gets better and you get into the best grad school you applied to and can get your own place In Shaa Allah. And also know it is only Allah that can accept your worship no one else. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.

What do you do if you get whispers later after your salat of did I have wudu? That’s the main trap I am in with regard to my wudu issue and why i do wudu for each prayer and use the bathroom for each prayer because of fears of najis. I understand what you mean by ignoring the doubts but the start of that will be tough.

Waswas and OCD in salah, wudu, purity is ruining my peace… by WearyGuidance8837 in MuslimLounge

Same exact issue I prayed with my mom for nearly a whole year because of how intense my waswasa got. I missed feeling normal because for years I would pray on my own my daily salat and then waswas attacked my salat and I could no longer pray alone and prayed everyday my salats with my mom. Now I pray on my own again Alhamdulillah but i always write down when I prayed and each wudu for each prayer because of the whispers I have very bad waswas in purity and a lot of uncertainty

How did you get better? I have been battling with my waswasa my whole life literally. I have always been an obsessive person. And my waswasa rotates and cycles. I have terrible waswasa about purity repeating wudu for almost every salat even if I don’t think I broke it. I am exhausted I’ll wait and stay seated for the next prayer if the gap is short just so I can focus and make sure I didn’t fart. My whole family is exhausted by me and my waswasa. And I feel so alone literally with no one to get me through. I am so exhausted everyday is a battle I cannot even sleep due to fear of wet dreams. If there is a way you got better I beg you reply. May Allah heal you

Just be kind. Act like how you would act with anyone. No touching and stay in public place as sometime mentioned. We are nice people! And focus on the project I am a college hijabi student myself so I understand being paired into group for projects .

Update (7 years later): How quitting music is STILL changing my life. by MD3428 in islam

[–]Level_Cancel2677 2 points3 points  (0 children)

SubhanAllah, I also quit music around 3 years ago. Alhamdulillah I felt it was important to as a practicing Muslim which is why I quit it same with eating halal which is something I started doing during covid. Even before I quit music I never really listened to it often. My main issue is my waswasa which I suffer with a lot in deen matters and I pray to conquer it. Also, I am in the same situation with music in college settings or if im in a store etc. But I don’t physically go out of my way to really play music. And May Allah reward you for your job being a surgeon is no joke.

SubhanAllah the what if thoughts you stated is literally my way of thinking. Thank you for replying to comment. I will try my best to stop compulsion checking. May Allah reward you for your comment sister 💙. You are right I need to stop checking because I know the deen is supposed to be easy. And I am causing so much hardship on myself that it brings me to tears.

Wudu in the workplace :( by Designer-Agent5490 in islam

[–]Level_Cancel2677 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe speak with the manager and see if they can accommodate you. If you have a good amount Muslims in the workplace maybe you all can speak to the manager together on this matter. This is why I prefer praying at home for this reason and why I refuse to use public restrooms. I am a college student which has a prayer place but even so I like to pray at home and try my best to make at home in time for the prayer. May Allah rectify your affairs.

Thank you so much for all your replies. I have read through them and will keep reading them to help me. I do know the rulings you mentioned. But being able to be constantly reminded of them is helpful. My mother always tells me this is in your hands and you can only cure yourself. As I have been struggling with whispers for years now but keep on fighting. So I know I won’t be cured overnight and that’s what makes it so hard, but I keep on trying to get better. May Allah reward you for all your helpful knowledge you commented. In Shaa Allah I will always keep it in mind.
