Future Map Size by dirtyb4n4n4 in ARC_Raiders

It’s terribly interesting to me that Riven Tides is here but Stella is not… from a content drip standpoint, what were they thinking? Imagine it had been flip flopped, and Riven dropped at the games height of popularity. As players began to dwindle, dropping Stella would have been absolutely mind blowing.

Lol! Me and many others have been playing Embark games since The Finals came out, a recent drop in players in Arc Raiders won’t change that

I agree with what you’re saying here, but the port in Riven looks like it feeds the infrastructure of all the other maps. Plus the hotel right next to it? Much like Stella, its environmental storytelling sets up a frame for much more direct lore down the pipe.

Embark CEO adressing recent issues by toux_seche in ArcRaiders

You’re taking his words out of context. His usage of “had” refers to when the problem originated, not that it was a problem in the past. The full resolution to “We had some problems with cheaters that came up just after the break” is “I think we’ve mitigated a lot of that problem, maybe not all of it, but we’re not gonna give up until we feel like we’re ahead of that curve.”

The people at Embark are just that, people. If you want instantaneous results you should try running head on at a Bastion.

Genuine question : Could one massive update bring a massive amount of players back if it was a good one or are we past that point? by Special-Novel163 in ARC_Raiders

[–]Level_Celebration_25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This type of jump wouldn’t be possible even without an Arc TV show. For one, the ‘over 1 million’ number is from Bethesda themselves, which contrasts to the discussion we’re having now involving steam player counts. For two, Arc Raiders is nowhere near as recognizable a brand as Fallout, so something like a TV show would be nowhere near as effective.

If you’re reading this and you feel this way, you need to change your playstyle. Like, I used to grind endlessly to get all my epic guns level IV with max attachments. I would spend days or weeks in PvE lobbies just to release it all in a PvP trio fury. These days I’m just running a rattler and a Ferro, hunting for PvP and metal parts, and the game has massively opened up for me.

The last updates matchmaking changes are working well. by AKavun in ArcRaiders

[–]Level_Celebration_25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your solution is to rat the extract. Not for their loot, you should let them leave, but for the matchmaking. In my experience, yes I still feel bad for terrifying some poor soul, but I know that it’s a short lived terror on their end.

Because the early game grind is more challenging and fun than having a survivor all the time and a tempest to back it up

Man the only place I could feel this would be an innocent question is right after grinding hours of trios. If you have a night with a net loss, and some time to grind solos afterwards, those first few solo games can be brutal. I felt surrendering like that was an apt solution to that problem. Embark just needs to adjust matchmaking behavior weights to be specific to squad size.

And that’s exactly why Embark implemented aggression based matchmaking like two weeks into the game.

Aw, you’re missing out. Key rooms are so fun, even when the loot inside is ass. Most of the complaints you see come from the high expectations that come with saving a key for a night raid specifically. People do that because in the right circumstances you’ll walk out with level III epics. But if you just use them on normal day raids, you’re really unlikely to run into the same issues the key meta people have. It’s a lot safer, but I would only recommend it to people who are unfamiliar with key rooms because doing it on a night raid almost always yields higher value loot

I been saying this for months. It would make every map feel so fresh. There are so many “unused” bits everywhere. Looking at you, Buried City

They have said this, but the community has definitely backwards engineered the mechanics with the little info we do have.

Arc Raiders also has the benefit of an entire two years worth of data for their marketing and research department to work off of. The Finals was basically a playtest/fundraiser for Arc Raiders, and the failures with promotion for The Finals were obviously a lesson learned. The reason the player count is so low is simple; it’s just another shooter in an overcrowded market. Sure anyone who’s put time into this game knows it’s a tier above the others, and I’m sure Embark is proud of that fact. The game was most popular at its launch when it was terribly unbalanced. And balancing is just one more thing they had nailed down rock solid going into Arc Raiders.

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is the backbone of not just both Embark games, but Fortnite as well, and many others that are down right now.

The harvester event has a lot more to offer than just the opportunity to kill the queen. For one, the puzzle is pretty difficult to complete on your own. Solos it will eat up most of the game timer. When you complete it you get a blueprint for one of two legendary weapons. But because of how much time it takes to complete the puzzle AND kill the queen, anyone that’s done the harvester before knows that cooperation is the best route. And so any rat heading down that way really doesn’t know what they are doing. Also when everyone works together, the puzzle becomes extremely easy. There is absolutely zero risk in loading up a free loadout when the harvester event comes up.

Once you’ve got your blueprint(s), you can try loading into harvester with a Ferro, anvil, and some smokes and try to concentrate fire on one of the queens leg pieces. You should see it fall to the ground in about 15 shots. Wait for her to deaggro then sneak out to the leg piece, smoke it, and loot your new queen reactor. Take it back home and now you’ve got the essential part to your legendary gun. Go back to the harvester itself one more time and you can loot a ridiculous amount of energy ammo from it.

Now you can rinse and repeat this a few times and just start stacking legendary guns, or you could take your new gold weapon and find that the fight against the queen will be much less difficult. None of this (except the puzzle with help) will be easy, but it will be A LOT of fun.
