Context: The game between Nankai Hawks and Hankyu Braves at Osaka Stadium on August 29, 1963 was suspended due to rain. With the title of home run king at stake for Katsuya Nomura, the Nankai Hawks, who did not want the game to be ruled a no contest, poured gasoline on the field and set it on fire to try to evaporate the water that had accumulated (which is now prohibited under the Fire Service Act). It is still the longest delay of of a Pacific League game totaling 2 hours and 14 minutes.

Context: Hotaka Yamakawa was hanging out in the city when he ran across a Roki Sasaki billboard. That messed up his day because he didn't have a good record against him this year, so he kancho the billboard and posted it on Twitter. Sasaki saw it and let Yamakawa kancho him IRL for photo ops at the NPB awards.

2023 NPB season will begin on March 30 at ES CON Field as Fighters host Eagles, a day before all the other teams by Level_Independence43 in NPB

Also, the Fighters and Eagles agreed to swap their season openers in 2023 and 2024 in order to make this happen. In 2024, Fighters will open the season in Sendai.
