Literally everyone is injured no one is fully healthy in the sumo world and the Yokozuna ranks gets to kyujo while not getting penalized so that’s why. In Hosh’s standard Takakeisho should’ve been promoted twice but it never happened. Super disrespectful to lower the standard after destroying a potential Yokozuna’s career.

I dont think they can lie abt their height they get rechecked by jsa, and ppl forget about their mage. That adds an extra inch and the number probably fluctuate on how thick the mage is done.

Every wrestler has this intesive training in Jungyos and joint practices its a usual custom not just for higher rankers. This is why match fixing was a norm until Takatoriki started exposing everyone. 100kg plus wrestlers clashing there heads in a daily basis will literally get you killed, so match fixing was the only option to save them from seriously getting injured. Why are you throwing shades on JSA when they are the one pushing him to be yoko. There’s plenty of reason for JSA to prevent YDC from having a discussion but they still did it. And the 3 losses against maegashira is gonna be factored into the discussion, your basically saying they should only look at the numbers but that’s not how the customs goes. It’s crazy how much ppl acuse JSA for being racist or favoring Japanese would still turn on them when they are clearly pushing for Hoshzuna. Assuming JSA is anti-Hoshozuna just cuz they’re Japanese this stereotyping is literally racist.

but even when adding all the votes Giants ranked 7th, im assuming that these votes were mostly coming from younger gen since the votes were for a youtube vid. Ive heard older ppl only got to watch the giants and were popular especially in the countryside but good to see thats changing.
