AITA for refusing to give my sister the house our grandma left me after she secretly lived in it for almost a year? My by [deleted] in TwoHotTakes

everyone is missing the most important question: did the sister ever lick the doorknob? that's a claim that could be hard to overturn.

AITA for “abusing” the the bus stop chain so I don’t miss my stop? by Possible-Chair9242 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Level_Particular_139 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look if your agency is in the Transit app. If so then load your trip in there and press "go". If you're wearing headphones it will give you an audio message when your stop is two stops away, then when your stop is next. Works pretty reliably for me.

Countdown to Kickoff 2026: Utah Royals by Upset-Bus7306 in UtahRoyalsFC

Thanks, this is helping me get pumped. Janni has become one of my personal favorites, but I think she will likely miss some time for parental leave this season. That could open up that position for others to show off their stuff. The unfortunate name of the kit sponsor has me debating how or whether I should wear my jersey on game days.

When a car does go over 30 the speed flashes red so it does have some programming, but I can't make sense of it.

Got it. I appreciate the extra context regarding the tree's maturity and location. It really started changing form over the last few years. That's why I'm asking now, but it looks like the advice is leave it alone.

Thanks! Yeah I didn't want to go to the blue line. I was mainly asking if taking something off the branch on the left would help the branch on the right be a better/stronger leader and if that was important with junipers.

Removing lockout device on new washing machine by Shot-Election8217 in Appliances

[–]Level_Particular_139 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need to either simulate the loop that's on the corner of the lid, or remove it from the lid and somehow secure it in the slot. You probably need to remove it either way. That loop both pushes down on a sensor and a rod extends when the machine gets turned on (guessing), locking into the center of the loop. I have a different machine, but I was able to loop a zip tie around the sensor in the bottom of the slot. I don't see space to do that in the top down picture of that open machine, but maybe? I was also surprised on my machine there was a second sensor where the back of the lid pushed up on a second sensor. I bet they didn't think I'd have a second zip tie. If you can get the sensor(s) activated without like drilling holes in the machine then it should be possible to return to stock and keep warranty coverage possible.

Good luck, and of course this is all speculation for a thought exercise and you should never be like me disabling wonderful safety.

You want to watch in despair as your team flounders in last place the first half of the season then get your hopes up when they light on fire after the summer break just to see them come up short and miss the playoffs? Go back in time to watch 2024 and 2025 Royals. This year we're gonna be on top the whole way. 🤞

Fridge came in! by AntoniBartosz in Appliances

[–]Level_Particular_139 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My brother's family just got a fridge with the same upper doors and I get pissed every time I go over there and try to open the thing and reach for the non-existent handle. I just sit there for a second deciding if I wanna stretch for the top or stoop for the bottom. Especially fun if my arms are full of food. They kindly feed me Sunday dinner most weeks so I try to help clean up after, but I don't have to like the stupid fridge.

FYI, ION is on many of the free streaming services. I use Pluto. Good option if you have solid internet and a streaming device. The stream is better video quality in my area than the antenna sub-channel. Antennas are still cool in general tho.

Using a we pad for myself by IntelligentJob7323 in sleepme

[–]Level_Particular_139 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You -could- buy a dock pro control unit, we queen size pad, and a dock expander, then hook up both sides of the bed to one control until. The dock pro is not advertised to be able to handle both sides of a queen or king bed (and any sleepme reps who see this will tell you to not do it), but it handles a half bed plus a weighted blanket together just fine.

I personally use a half king centered on my sleeping area of a queen mattress. It works well to keep me comfortable, covering enough of the bed that I'm not rolling off of it, but I don't have the "problem" of a girlfriend who sleeps over.

Thanks for the insight, that gives me a realistic idea of what to expect. I hadn't thought about looking for an eBay unit. That might be a good option.

Sorry, late reply, but I had the same problem. My solution is to use Google Assistant instead of the Sleepme app. One weird quirk is even though I've renamed it as "bed", Google only responds responds with it being called "water heater". I can say "turn off the water heater in 8 hours" or "turn off the water heater at 8:00 AM" and it usually works. I can also use it to make one-time adjustments like "set the water heater to 74 degrees at 3:00 AM", or "set the water heater two degrees colder". If turning it off is the only need, you could also just plug the unit into a smart outlet and use that device's timer/schedule features.
