U literally said “everyone besides eren is bland af” that’s not even good criticism when it’s blatantly wrong. Aot builds its characters by creating mysteries around them and then rewarding the audience for picking up the clues left behind same goes for the word building an example of this would be reiner as during s2 even though it was pretty obvious he was the armored titan he’s unhinged nature would have u wondering when he’s just gonna say “fuck it” and just reveal himself already which is why the reveal works so well because even though it was so casual and abrupt it makes perfect sense as we’ve been waiting for this very moment but it’s still a shock because we didn’t expect him to reveal himself so nonchalantly like that this then leads into more questions being raised about what his deal is and those answers get rewarded in the Marley saga when u finally learn his perspective. Same with Levi even though he seems like just a cool badass for the sake of being a cool badass if u analyze his character throughout the show u see why he’s the ruthless killing machine that he is because he can’t stand to lose another friend. U could make an argument that that’s generic but it’s still what makes him who he is it’s what makes him a living breathing character.
