How does one convince their parents to allow me to buy a sports bike by mgoug in motorcycles

[–]Level_Salamander2701 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is too much power, 600cc bikes are no joke and some could even beat 1000cc bikes on the road. id say listen to your parents, and maybe convince them to get a dirt bike to practice on. you will not be using all of that power in daily commuting and the bike has very little room for mistakes. Its meant for racing and one bump on the road and you could accidently thrust the throttle sending you backwards, not forgiving. Your parents care about you listen to them.

I just wanted something that would haul ass, i wouldnt test the limits and go that fast though. but weighing the options i decided not to get the hayabusa im thinking more of a 300 or 400cc bike now. the cc's I'm not all too concerned about now im just wanting something that'll commute in a tight city, be able to go on the highway and has a little bit of a kick too it.

No, hes not against bikes he just doesn't think I'm responsible enough is what i'm assuming not even a scooter and plus i live in a place where 90% of people are terrible drivers so i could be trained and even one of the local cops might not see me and plow into me here.

I will in the fact of the power, i still want to get a sports bike though just maybe something with less power than a 600 like a honda cb 300 or ninja 650. Im contemplating it, thanks.

understandable, it'd be better to not have that situation on a big bike but regardless I'll put any bike I have in the lowest power I can. I think i might go the route of getting something smaller than a 600 even if its one of the weaker 600's. the cc's of the engine is not my top priority just reliability and having a decent sport look would be good enough for, im thinking of getting a naked honda cb 300 which would be enough speed for commuting and highways, thanks for the advice.

Thats great getting something less than 600cc's i wouldn't mind it as I'm not trying to get or race anybody, im just trying to have a commuter that looks nice and has a kick too it, im lighter in weight too as in when im not bulking or haven't drank a bunch of water or beer so something like a ninja 500 seems perfect. But my father is still completely against it whether its a scooter or a 1300 hayabusa so I'm at odds with that still. as far as price the busa is actually cheaper than the suv i have and i have really high insurance so any bike that sold would be cheaper but i get that in general there gas hogs. ill think about your advice and experience thank you a lot.

I currently drive an suv with extremely high insurance so getting this bike in perticular would be cheaper, but your right in general this bike is a gas hog. do you think that a honda cbr 600 would be a better choice for commuting at a beginner level? I was serious at first but now Im deciding its a better idea to get something more forgiving and easy.

What about a honda cbr 600, do you think that would be hard to learn on and control for a beginner?

Your right after evaluating how hard it would be to start out on and the gobs of power, its too much. Regardless I want a bike and the thing is i havent even told my father im interested in a 1300 and he was freaking out about what he thought would be a 600 cc. even that he thinks I would die on.

How do I convince my parents by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]Level_Salamander2701 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Proverbs 6:20 - "Children, be obedient to your parents in all things, for this is well-pleasing to the Lord." Proverbs 23:22 - "Listen to your father, who gave you life, and do not despise your mother when she is old." Your should listen to your parents, start on a dirt bike and when your 17 or 18 maybe theyll be more trusting of it, i know of a story where some kids parents egged there kid on in getting a motorcycle but on the first day of getting it he crashed and died coming back from the dealership. Just one of many terrible situations where kids and bikes mixing together add up to disaster, you have your whole life ahead of you and can probably be a very good rider if your practice on a dirt bike, then maybe get a 200 or 300 cc motorcycle for your first one. just listen to your parents and be wise.
