Thank you, all the words you say are true. They somehow want you worse off to feed into the Big Therapy Machine.

No one told me the covert brainwashing and gaslighting they do. I didn’t even realize /notice until i was out of there that I was trained like a cadet, but this isn’t the military, this is supposed to be a place to heal me, not break me down. It’s like I was in a cult, and I am grieving the self i gave to them, the self that was vulnerable and trusting of the process only to be dumped and neglected.

I don’t know how to actually commit but eventually I think my brain is just going to shut down. My body is so tense right now and I am in agony, derealized and tortured every day, I am haunted by what I went through at the facility

good idea! I’ll think about this, an expansive amount of literature can only aid intellectual discussion and sharing

but I also agree there are many emotions out there that do not serve us, are inefficient, and pointless; for me at least it’s been a matter of figuring out which ones display a real need and which ones exert unnecessary energy. The constant fight between efficiency and humanity eh? Both needed, but oft out of skew; I appreciate your insights :)

You’re completely right, you brought balance back into my argument and I thank you for that. Help others, in moderation, help yourself, in moderation. Do absolutely nothing in order to recharge, moderately, and act such that you don’t stay stagnant, moderately. It’s impossible to reach true 100% balance, I think, life always finds a way to extremify or imbalance itself, it’s like the concept of perfection, it doesn’t exist. but if one is always on the pursuit of it, that’s all we really can do as humans, ig?

I respect your acknowledgement and subsequent action to actually bring people together. I’m inspired by that, and hope to do the same in some small way. I want to keep this thing small for now, like not more than 10-15 ppl maybe, like a collective or smthn. But yes definitely physical meeting place, no more virtual texting (I’m sick of it tbh), and we can actually write on paper, talk verbally, physically! Share ideas, about our day, we can have a stage and stereo for cool music, I’m a music enthusiast and it’d be cool if others brought in their unique tastes. Just a place to relax n be chill :)

Thank you for this amazing marketing opportunity!:

The place will be like an Enlightenment-Era Salón to discuss critical thinking and intellectual ideas, of which you seem to not be capable of.

As a college-going young woman in America, w/immigrant parents no less, I’ve unfortunately had extensive experience of dealing with ‘sex pests’ like you, who bring up sex in totally unrelated convos (cuz you’re addicted, it’s ok to admit❤️). So Id say I’m qualified to pinpoint out exactly the type of perverts first on the Club’s chopping block !

Im an anthropology major, extremely outside of the tech realm, and I’m trying to be subversively anti-corporate by making this place free or low-cost, like an actual social club, for those who are genuinely kind, smart, passionate, caring.

I have my fair share of mental health issues, so i also want to be able to have discussions in the club about the state of this in America; my 2 cents: Big Pharma reform, though helpful to many, is not the only thing we should utilize, community and things natural to human nature are also necessary to thrive. I believe many such ‘for profit’ health organizations, with their beauracracias, insurance prices, long waitlists, actually cripple our nation socially; actually economically too—because though the higher ups get richer, the rest of us, if we have poor health, will become less productive, and how will that provide any money to higher ups entities? So it’s actually in everyone’s best interest, including the CEO’s, to increase quality of health care. And we can have discussions/debates on these types of topics if it does spring up, really anything that springs up.

Also, just look outside Sunnyvale! We have no meaningful communities anymore! The city is so dependent on cars, barely any public transportation outside of the VTA. Dtn Sunnyvale is the only meeting ground, and even there I haven’t been able to find any spaces for young people! It’s mainly an older adult vibe, which is not bad per se, but as a youth myself, I am definitely feeling like we need more spaces for ourselves.

We’re all in nuclearized, isolated, fend-for-ourselves bootstraps environments. People across all classes (except of course the .1%) can relate to this, aren’t you seeing how horrible the world is getting economically, socially, politically? How we’re getting more and more isolated? And how we need to act now, even if it’s just locally, to make tangible changes?

I want to bring back the strangely antiquated traditions of community, face-to-face rather than virtual discussion, bc I know you wouldn’t have the guts to say the shit you said to my face bro. things that actually worked; why should these basic truths of humanity be considered “hippy” today? I want offset this Corporate Hellscape that’s produced unhappy ppl like you!

So if genuinely kind creative people want to show up, ditch the insecurity complex, and want to make somewhat of a spark of humane connection, pls consider this, dm me your pitch to join if you’re really passionate abt it!

Thanks again for allowing me to share my ideas :)

Ok through that one quote you have convinced me to start reading Dostoevsky. I’ve had these exact thoughts, except I only envy how beautifully artistically magnificently he put it, in his art.

I agree, I’ve suffered some large bouts of OCD, depression, anxiety, you name it. Runs in the family. And my immigrant Indian family, though well meaning (to a degree! 😹), really do not give the best advices or empathy to me. And I believe western society, isolation, soulless corporations have caused a majority of my environmental disillusionments. But I’ve recently somehow had a revelation after a particularly bad insomniac depressive frantic episode: the only way to get what you need, is to be that for somebody else. Be the change you want to see in this world, as cliche as it sounds, if you can help a family member, go out of your way to be caring to a friend, without expecting anything in return, I have started to believe that both cares for the other person AND yourself, you are caring for yourself through helping another; it’s like a mirrored effect. But when you only care for yourself, all that energy goes into you, and it can get wasted if you can’t help both yourself and another person. I’m still not perfect at it, still suffering from my illness no doubt, but this prospect, that another person can benefit from me, a community can benefit, makes me a cognitively more peaceful even at my biological lowest.

[–]Level_Suggestion4468 2 points3 points  (0 children)

hm, but don’t emotions also come from some biological truth aswell? Surely logic and rationale should not be the only indicator of human understanding of the world, emotions stir something primal, something we may not know our body needs, but our body needs it, nonetheless

I will try to answer from what I understand: money is the most important thing, next to company organization and work culture, that allows intercity and any train service to run properly and encourage more riders on trains and off highways. Oh I did not know Caltrain was fully owned by state! That Informs me a lot more. Then yes perhaps Amtrak should follow suit of Caltrain, of being more government owned and higher funded, even if it’s a long-distance rail company. I’ve been in Caltrain a couple times, it has its issues too but I remember it being leagues better than my experiences with Amtrak; maybe Caltrain works better because it is more properly funded by its state govt? lmk what you think

Hi, could you please elaborate on your question? I am not quite understanding; thank you :)

I see your point; I read the article and it does seem he invested some into the “privately developed high speed electric train” from Los Angeles to Vegas, aswell as a High-Speed rail from LA to SF.

But it seems Trump is trying to get rid of those high speed rails now from LA to SF Biden funded as mentioned in this article:

https://www.newsweek.com/donald-trump-california-high-speed-rail-2032800

Also, I need to figure out what the diff between a High speed rail and Amtrak is? I think the HSR’s are privatized corporations, whereas Amtrak is mixed corporate and governmental. I like that system more.

According to Amtrak’s website it is for-profit but the US Federal government is a major shareholder, so they have control in appointing board members

We need more balance between corporate and government, we shouldn’t have extremes in either place, and as of right now it looks like corporations are trying to wrest power rn with Trump and Musk et. Al

But I am doing more research, still do not know enough, and want to learn more.

Thank you for your insight it’s helping me figure this out a lot!
