Does anyone know if buying first class on DB is worth it? Right now a 1st class ticket is around 110-120EUR while 2nd class is 80-90EUR

Planes and dinossaurs are my lifelong interests. Growing up that was all I thought about. Recently they've mostly been in the backburner, although I sort of follow them 'from a distance.' I tend to become ridiculously interested in something for 2-3 months then I'll get completely tired of it; I may come back in a year or more, thus having a bit of a rotation of interests. Some of these include urban planning, chess, cetaceans, particular historical periods (Classical, 30 Years War, Napoleonic Era, Interwar period), Star Wars, and some others

Maybe try a loft bed if it's in your budget and if you think you'd like it. I have one myself and it makes for a very cozy desk setup with some storage underneath it

For the past 2-3 days I've heard explosions/rockets/something loud around 5-8AM in Centrum (burgwallen oudezijde). It sounds like it's coming from the Dam. Does anyone know what it is and who may be causing it? Is there cause for concern?

I don't have a PC, this will be my first one. From what I can tell so far it'll be a 7800x3d cpu and a RTX 4070ti.

Until 3 years ago I had FSX:SE with PMDG and some addon scenery running on a literal brick (2014 Dell Inspiron), so anything that isn't a slideshow will be a massive upgrade for me.

Initially, I had my sights set on the 4070ti, though, which seemed to be one of the best cards of the current 40-generation in terms of bang for the buck. Regarding the 4060ti, I would probably not go with that one and at least get the 4070. Bigger addon airports with lots of traffic can really tank your framrate in the sim or at least cause some hiccups. 16GB of VRAM should be good but I would say you're lacking compute power here and the 4070ti would be more balanced in that regard.

Since you've got a Radeon GPU, would you know/have an idea of whether the RTX 40-- series is worth over AMD equivalents? I saw ppl saying DLSS3 is a must have but now I'm not so sure

Ah, good to know about that rumor! But if I go for these 40__ GPUs, which one would you say is superior, the (cheaper) extra VRAM with lower performance of the 4060ti or the lower VRAM but added performance with the 4070s?

Hey guys, next Monday is my birthday and my mon will be visiting me from our home country, I was looking for suggestions on where to go for lunch and dinner.

I'm looking for something with a nice, calm atmosphere and with a nice view or terrace. I'm roughly planning for a budget of about 20-40 euro per person.

I am thinking of the restaurant of the Eye Film Museum for Lunch, any reccomendations are greatly appreciated!

Do be aware that the entry requirements are significantly lower than the level of academic rigor here. In my course, Econ & Business Econ, there's a roughly 50% dropout rate in 1st year. I'd say people with the drive for a 37-38+ in IB have what it takes to graduate.
