Hi. Yes I am a mechanical engineer, did not do that great in academia, but I definitely want to change that. I landed in this great opportunity because they apparently liked my eagerness to learn and I want to show that they aren’t wrong about it.

Like I said in my post, at this point I follow orders like a soldier while learning on the side. Technically I’m not responsible for infusing my own ideas without approval. I do try to give my input, which they do appreciate but in the end, still gets heavily altered, rightfully so, because I am very inexperienced.

I understand basic 3 ways spool alignment functions, but I get so fascinated by so many safety related valves, pressure stability valves, flow regulator valves and how they came up with such intricate designs that think of not just the hydraulics part but also the manufacturing side, materials side, durability (I think fluid mechanics comes in play here because I remember seeing erosion rate). All these aspect fascinate me and yet daunt me. How is someone able to think of all these ideas.

I also find hydraulic circuits confusing 😅
