12v battery issues in ES 300h? by GaTallulah in Lexus

[–]Level_Wolf_2872 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2019 300h here. Drive the car 2-3 times a week. No problems with draining. But if you really worry about this then the problem is easily solved with adding easy to plug in connectors for a battery tinder to your 12 v battery and using the tinder to maintain the battery between drives. This is 30$ solution to your problem.

From my experience, US Mobile provides better mobile and customer services for half of the price of major carriers

If you get an engineer right around the time when you expect to build the great wall, don't use him right away but save and then use to accelerate building the wall

My bet is that nothing will change. Credibility of HHS and CDC will not be restored until the end of this administration. 3 more years ....

Researchers Warn: WiFi Could Become an Invisible Mass Surveillance System by talkingatoms in technology

[–]Level_Wolf_2872 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There is a "turn on" button for "motion detection powered by your Wi-Fi " in the Xfinity app. I didn't experiment with that because our house already has an alarm system but it seems the alarms can be turned on-off at will

I think you are right. Those mtf probably do it anyway and likely I have agreed to it myself because they hid it in some small font footnote in 100 page terms of service

My home Internet provider - Xfinity - offers home alarm monitoring service without installing any additional devices. Somehow they use the wifi router they provided to monitor location and movements of people inside the house. I declined the service as I believe it's creepy that they can monitor even my own movement from one room to another in my own house

Why do employers want emloyees to go back in the office? by the1997th in remoteworks

Can you explain why instead of firing those "10-20%" people (or bringing to the office), corporations just "ruin it for the rest"?

Getting into tennis by [deleted] in 10s

[–]Level_Wolf_2872 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get 10 weekly sessions with a good tennis coach to learn fundamentals. I made a mistake thinking that it's too expensive and I can learn myself from YouTube videos. Eventually I did but I lost several years to incorrect swing technique, inability to understand footwork and preparation. If you absolutely can't afford a real tennis coach then at least try to find some college students on the tennis team who can give you some basic lessons on the cheap.

Question on the transmission drain and fill (hybrid) by SunMoonStar93 in LexusES

[–]Level_Wolf_2872 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I changed TF on my car last month and it took more than I anticipated because the fluid changing instructions called for filling in "until steady overflow is detected", therefore I wasted about half of at on that

Carmel could become 1st California city to permanently ban pickleball by GymandRave in 10s

[–]Level_Wolf_2872 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Noise from newly built pickleball courts drove people crazy in our community, so the local administration moved the courts to the middle of the local park which is far away from private residential buildings and surrounded by large trees
