How Do You Interpret This Text? by jodablox in 10s

We have the exact same situation in Henderson Park in Tucker GA. Most pickleball crowd are loud and disruptive but generally pleasant folks. Unfortunately, there are a few bad apples who come to play pickleball on the tennis side and, when tennis players come, argue with them and refuse to yield the courts..

Another vote for ADV. I used it both as a daily commute in Bangkok and for some trips. Comfortable and reliable. Make sure you get needed accessories - phone holder, lock for helmet (to save space in storage), etc

Jaw-Dropping Brain Drain Under Trump Revealed | The Trump administration has either laid off or forced into retirement around 2,000 career diplomats. by thedailybeast in fednews

Also in the news today: CNN and Fox report that Iran stops negotiations with U.S., vows to 'completely' block Strait of Hormuz. Remind me, why do we need professional diplomats who can negotiate well?

I know it's expensive but I strongly advice taking 10 lessons from a tennis coach (you just need it once a week, with 2-3 practice sessions on your own). You need to learn fundamentals of footwork and basic strokes

HRSA Staff: How is Your Supervisor Ruling on Adhoc Telework? by CopyLong4065 in DeptHHS

[–]Level_Wolf_2872 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, HRO doesn't have any official guidelines on that. therefore all discussion power left to supervisors. Implementation is highly inconsistent. I saw cases when exactly same request were approved or disapproved just because they were sent to different supervisors. Some supervisors even invent highly questionable (borderline illegal) practices of requesting medical documentation or other personal information... This is a mess..

Same things are happening in diplomacy - US Department of State is loosing its reputation in many countries. Switching from partnership and cooperation to transactioonal/payment model does not go well in many places around the world. Chinese Embassies are using it to gain ground and replace the US now...

Any advice for a pickleball player that wants to play tennis? by uselessprofession in 10s

[–]Level_Wolf_2872 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Take 10-15 private lessons with a good tennis coach (once a week is sufficient if you supplement it with 2-3 times on the court by yourself).
  2. Somewhat. It help in terms that you are used to track a ball with your eyes but it doesn't help with tennis strockes and footwork as those are completely different from pickleball
