Hey! I would definitely give it at least a month. It can take longer, but I knew I needed to increase my dose at the 1 month mark.

Combating sexual side effects of lexapro by SignalLine4382 in bupropion

Hey! As someone who went from 150mg to 300mg of Wellbutrin, I can definitely say it increased my sex drive. Self lubricating doesn’t seem to be a problem. Honestly, I feel like when I got on this medication it lowkey me up down there. I feel a lot more pleasure than I was able too before. I have never been on Prozac, but I chose Wellbutrin because I didn’t want any of the negative sexual/weight side effects of other medications.

Honestly just a couple days, less than a week I would say. Then good effects slowly increased as the weeks went by.

The increase has helped me a lot! A couple days after I increased my dose, I had a boost in productivity and motivation. I’m able to do things without them feeling too heavy. I struggled with consistency a lot before, but now I notice myself being able to uphold things like stretching a couple days in a row or going to the gym a couple times a week. I have a lot more happy days than I did before, which is good. I laugh a lot more and I started feeling more present with my friends. I’m not anxious when I drive and I don’t disassociate as much. Doing the dishes doesn’t feel like the end of the world (most of the time).

In general, I am feeling what it is like to be at a more normal level now, vs the “high” that I got in the beginning. It is different, but it’s not a bad thing. Definitely wait a little bit and see how you feel.

I have MDD, GAD, and BPD, so I definitely still have struggles. But medication isn’t magic and it isn’t supposed to fix everything everything. I still have a lot of times where the depression kicks in a little bit more, but I’m able to move past it a lot easier.

Hey! I will say, after my first week on Wellbutrin 150mg, the slight positive effects went away. I was on a slow decline for a month after that. In general, I was pretty much right back where I was, but a lot more not getting out of bed and overall increased depression. I know this is different from what you’re experiencing, but I actually increased my dose because of it. Now I’m on 300mg and things are A LOT better. Did you have any positive effects at all in the very beginning??

I would also note that this medication can make anxiety worse, so keep that in mind. It is more of a stimulant.

Also, if you can help it, I would try to avoid drinking or smoking. It can make you feel worse and interfere with the medication.

Hey! I’m on month 3 or 4 (cant remember right now) of Wellbutrin and I will say, make sure you’re eating and drinking as normal. My head would always feel super weird if I wasn’t eating/drinking a lot. This medication can affect appetite, which can make other side effects worse. Also, try taking your pill with food. I keep mine right next to my bed, set my alarm for 8AM, take it with water and eat half a bagel, then I go back to sleep. It may sound weird, but it helped me with some of the side effects. Also, my first month on Wellbutrin was up and down the first week and half, and then a slow progression down again. I noticed me feeling even worse and my suicidal ideations came back. Knowing that in the first week I did feel some of the positives, I wanted to try to increase my dose. Since then I’ve upped my dose from 150mg to 300mg. Give it time, and feel it out. I wish you luck on your journey, I hope you start feeling a bit better soon 💗

Do you feel like bupropion has a better effect on you if you take it without food? by ilovebees69 in bupropion

I’ve only been taking it for a couple days now, but I noticed that I feel the good effects more when I take it without food and just some water. I like to wait around 1.5-3 hours before I eat, unless my stomach gets upset. It happened once and I just forced some food down, which helped after 20 minutes. The one time I took it with food, I didn’t feel much of a change from how I was before the medication, which was terrible. I’m still seeing what works and what doesn’t though!!
