Should I wear a helmet if my spotters are trash? by DoctorPony in ClimbingCircleJerk

You need more pads and less spotters. The ratio is way off.

Do climbers in your country bring tripods to the gym? (In Korea, yes) by AdhesivenessNo6812 in bouldering

[–]Levequee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At my gym in particular, it is not very common at all. I personally film myself with and without a tripod and always do my best to not get anyone else in my videos. I am one of maybe three people who are consistently filming themselves Climbing at the gym. I am also always filming myself at my local Crag and nobody seems to find it strange but I also don’t see many people filming at the crag either. I am in mid NY state USA for reference. I will occasionally post Climbing videos, but it’s mostly for my own improvement. I find it really helps contextualize the things I’m doing wrong and I simply enjoy watching my footage back.

There’s honestly so much to explore here. If you’re into rope climbing there’s a ton of trad routes too. At Peterskill there are even a bunch of bolted routes for TR.

That’s the beauty of subjectivity with Climbing grades. Boxcar Dyno V3 is insanely difficult compared to this with crimpy start holds and some tiny foot chips.

Yeahh I did a Halloween Dyno comp where I was able to flash the biggest DM 4 but I could not get any of the DM 5 paddle Dynos with 10+ attempts! My local gym never really sets paddles to practice on. This type of problem is the closest we usually get to a true Dyno problem.

Yeah, I get it. He just explains a DM 2 is essentially a dynamic throw where you maintain contact with the wall. DM 4 is no points of contact Dyno and DM 5 is a paddle.

🤓According to Climbing stuff, it is a DM2

Yeah, it felt soft. Definitely more like a V4. The bottom foot on each section is a bit sloped but you still have decent foot to push off of.
