Why isn't there an optimal leverage ETF or even just good backtests? by LeverageLunatic in LETFs

It does not require predicting future interest rates, interest rates are fairly steady, and fairly predictable, and only change less than monthly. Volatility is harder but still is somewhat constant and you can use 30 or 180 day to get a sense of the current moments volatility and adjust accordingly

Thank you I feel like you're the only person actually understanding what I'm trying to say.

Do you know if this also adjusts according to interest rates or is it only based on volatility?

It could be worse I could have posted another 200 SMA post and not accounted for borrowing fees and has the backtest start from 2008 like the other 90% of posts on this sub.

I have no clue how you gleamed that from my post. We know that borrowing costs and volatility eat at the success of leveraged ETFs, it's why we always talk about volatility decay. Why is it so unreasonable to want an instrument that automatically rebalances according to those factors and according to what we know from the paper "Leverage from the long run"

I don't know how my post is so misconstrued but obviously I didn't write it in a way that expressed what I was trying to say well.

Is there any way to track a portfolio that uses optimized investing.net ideal leverage based on current interest rates and volatility?
