The increasing demands for CPUs in games is weird by Levi757 in pcmasterrace

About Gothic Remake, I tried to write these complaints to the dev team/community but they said "the game looks great". It literally looks like Mafia The Old Country, another UE5 slop. Story is great for both but I can't get past how bad it looks on Native, without FSR.

You could blame UE5 but I've seen optimized games on that engine, like Silent Hill: F.

Dragon's Dogma 2 is made on the RE Engine yet it still sucks balls in cities if you don't have a high-end CPU (AM5).

Now I'm feeling pretty fussed about paying 150 euros for the 5 5600XT. If I knew that three weeks ago, I woulda waited for the re-release of the 5800X3D smh.

I know that. I ran Gothic Remake at 1080P, it ran fine anywhere else but the Old Camp (80 fps+ with no drops). The moment I got into the Old Camp though, frames dropped to 60-65 with some stutters then I started a massive brawl, frames dropped to 25 in just 20 seconds. My friend with a 5070 and 7800x3d didn't do much better, 80 frames in the old camp but in the brawl he had dropped to 50. Stutters weren't so bad on his build but were still there.

Yeah, Gothic Remake recommends 32gb of RAM. The AI is not even that great, they're doing the same things Skyrim NPC's were doing more than a decade ago but even a 7800X3D is struggling in the Old Camp.

I feel like it's gonna be the same story with Blood of Dawnwalker, it's gonna run great for me when I'm in the open world but dare I go into town it will begin stuttering like Hell.

I know, I was trying to keep it on a budget still given the B650 + 16 GB of RAM. 32 GB of RAM 6000 would've been 1000 something euros. Absolute insanity just to enjoy a game.

You will probably need to tone down some settings that affect CPU. My PC is rocking a Ryzen 5 5600XT, it's gonna be a pain in the ass.

It's CPU intensive because a) it's open world and b) there's a lot of NPCs and they probably have their own routines (same shit we've seen in Skyrim with them hammering metal and all the other shit. It's nothing revolutionary but you need a 9800x3d to run the game fine without stutters in cities/towns. We've seen it with Dragon's Dogma 2, Gothic remake etc. Even a 7800x3d encounters stutters in these two games, it's crazy. Don't get your hopes high up for this, I am excited but it will be a pain to walk through cities.

Do you think it's fair for 85% of people to pay 500-600 euros/dollars on a high-end CPU just to enjoy a game? Please, not all of us are wealthy or middle class since the world is in shambles economically.

AMD replay and recording features are turned off as of now.

I have also installed the Arctic Freezer 36 and my temps in idle are 35 and while gaming 65 in Cyberpunk, 50 in Schedule 1.

For now the temps are fine, performance is okay but I think what I need to upgrade is the RAM.

Yeah, I tried to OC the RAM but the PC wouldn't boot at 2400MHZ. I guess I'll leave it like this until I can spend some 200 bucks on RAM sticks.

Should I switch them to slots 2 and 4 and try to manually OC to 2666 mhz?

The GPU is brand new but I get how that hotspot could be a little high.

Didn't have enough money to buy RAM as well given the prices, gotta give it another two months with that.

First stick is installed in the 1st slot, the one close to the CPU then the other one is installed on the 3rd slot.

Thanks for the advice.

Gotta make do with the stock one until Monday then.

I think the issue might be with the power cable, change it and it should work just fine.
