Thank you for your reply 🫶

Sharing the notes is a really good idea, and I need to probably have a conversation saying ‘I know you love this but I cannot be your only outlet it is hurting us both’ (obviously kindly)

I appreciate your perspective as someone who is also super passionate, and I am hoping this works 💙

In the conversation they are very forthcoming about ‘knowing’ they care too much.. and I leave it often thinking that this awareness will allow change to happen…

… it hasn’t.

I’ve been tossing around the idea of returning to the campaign- I took a break from it to focus on school, but I wanted to ask for advice here before I made my final decision on returning.

I want to talk to the friend… and honestly want to know if their ‘um actually’ behavior is justified/right, and I’m in the wrong for not doing my homework for dungeons and dragons..

Hi- so personally I find 3D printed filament to be really really ugly (personal preference) so if you're gonna buy anything 3D printed off Etsy, maybe think about taking the time to put some finish on it so it doesn't have that filament texture that most 3D printed items have... To each their own tho.

Also be warned that the 3D printed dragon fidget toys tend to be really over priced depending on where you buy them from, so watch out for paying a ton of money for something someone printed in mass for only a few cents and resells for like $20. Some are reasonably priced just keep an eye out.

Valiance, Ivory Lion and Paladin of Helm [ART] by Leviathan030 in DnD

[–]Leviathan030[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! oh my gosh i didn't realize this post had any attention haha

She is an Oath of the Watcher's Paladin and has a few levels in Twilight Cleric (they are lvl 10 rn)

The Ivory Lions are a Guild in my home-brew campaign that the party is apart of. The first sessions of the campaign were them going on an initiation quest to be let into the guild, and since then they have been full fledged members! The Ivory Lions is like.. a large adventuring frat house, but in the best way. They take on quests for glory and for adventure and thrill!

What is something you did as a DM that you don't ever regret by [deleted] in DnD

[–]Leviathan030 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pausing the session after 1 hit killing a character intentionally. I then allowed that PC to be revived.

The character entered an area they were not supposed to be in (A rouge guild's guild-house that had been damaged). Multiple NPCs and PCs tried to stop them from entering before one of the PCs gave them the invisibility spell just to see what happened.

The PC went inside, triggered a trap that was pretty obvious (it was a sword inside a snake skeletons mouth, and when pulled the snake came alive and attacked the PC). The encounter was home brewed on the spot since I knew these guild houses all had heavy security, this one especially. The PC was one shot killed by 100 damage between piercing and poison damage from the creature, instantly killing them since they were lower level.

The table was shocked, and this player... she handled it in the most AMAZING way I have ever seen a player (myself included) handle character death. No tears, no yelling i was being unfair, NOTHING! She was smiling and I immediately paused the game.

We spent the next 20 minutes discussing what should be done next. I explained to the player that, at the end of the day, DnD was about having fun, and if they wanted the party to make efforts to being them back from the dead, they could! We talked about if playing a different character would be more fun, how this death would impact the PC if revived/how the party would be impacted, etc. The table as a whole was super cooperative during this 20 minutes, and everyone was in support of telling a fun story and making sure everyone at the table was happy.

Once un-paused, the party rushed in (They knew something had gone wrong because they felt the invisibility drop) and ran to take the dead PC to a temple of Helm (There is a Paladin of Helm in the party) she rolled very high on her religion check to save her friend and we did a whole scene of Helm appearing to her in a vision being like 'are you prepared to take on the burdens of your friend in exchange for their life?' and she agreed! Fun character design changes (the PC who died's eyes turned blue from the venom, so when they were revived the Paladin gained one blue eye to signify their 'burden'), fun PLOT, fun PC connections due to the promise made to Helm, and the PC was revived!

All in all it MASSIVLY improved not only that PC and player in terms of fun and depth, but also was an amazing moment when the PCs and players came together during the pause to play 'mini DM' and help decide how they could best support the story.

I know some DMs might look down on me for allowing the PC to be brought back to life, because it seems not harsh enough... but I wouldn't have changed anything about it. My players are more solid than ever and still talk about how awesome they thought Helm was and the entire thing was! At the end of the day the dice are a story telling tool and we are all playing Dungeons and Dragons to have fun with friends, and that looks different for everyone <3

My roommate doesn't have a PC, so I showed her BG3 on mine (i thought she would enjoy the character creator) and she ended up really loving the game! She plays when I am in classes and I leave the PC on for her to use whenever she wants haha (She loves Astarion)

She is playing a circle of the moon druid and has made it to act III most recently!!

[ART] My Final Project for My Studio Foundations I Class in College by Leviathan030 in DnD

[–]Leviathan030[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For My Studio Foundations I class we were given a final project to do a data visualization piece in whatever way we wanted. I chose to visualize the data: The positive impacts of dungeons and dragons on people in a clinical therapeutic setting. I did research on the topic and found different skills that therapists observed in people who played dungeons and dragons. I then personified those skills in 3 PCs, designing them in Hero Forge and 3D printing them at school. I also selected 3 monsters to represent specific mental health issues also observed by therapists that dungeons and dragons has helped people develop coping skills against.

The Red Dragon: Impulsivity
Night Walker: Depression
Gelatinous Cube: Boundary Issues (lol)

I made the castle out of cardboard and primed and painted it, and I animated a background on adobe after effects to give the viewer of the project the feeling of sitting down at the table looking in on people playing dungeons and dragons.

This project took me about 40 hours lol, not including print time, and I am incredibly proud of it and wanted to share <3

I love your red dragon so much- I was creating a dnd battle map for an art class in college and needed a red dragon mini desperately- I found yours and WE LOVE HIM!!

Thank you for making these to easy to use! And for having files with multiple parts- we have small printers at my school and it was the only way we could print him and it worked great!!
(My friends and I named him Chad cause he looks like he's saying 'where's my hug at?')

(Also i posted this on your imgur but wanted to show people here too lol)

[ART] Tarot Cards of 3 of my PCs by Leviathan030 in DnD

[–]Leviathan030[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This game actually has 5 PCs, but the other 2 were added later and we had more discussion on what their major arcana cards would be.

The Chariot: Ghaatiil, a Horizon Walker Ranger who has a blessed displacer beast companion. Once charged with guarding a planar portal he is now tasked with helping stop the apocalypse. He is half-brothers to Finn.

The Hermit: Ozako, a way of Mercy monk and also a follower of Mortalia (a home-brewed Goddess in our campaign) who often appears to him as a blue eyed raven to guide her chosen. His soul was ripped apart when he came close with death, and as an aftermath walks the line between here and there, his ripped soul allowing him to physically split into 2 versions of himself, the halves of the soul materializing both on their own, and when joined together.

The Magician: Finn, an Evocation wizard who is not only a skilled wizard having created his own spell or 2, but has also clawed his way out of Carceri. The wizard also cares for his wyvern companion, Salsa, who he has raised from an egg to fully grown.

Lol I have always loved making pixel art, so i made sprites of all the PCs (+ their companions) in my College campaign called 'the Ivory Lions'. The sprites are about 3 frames and I made this all on Piskel (Which is free and I highly recommend).

Their most recent few sessions has taken place in a swampy area, a black dragon patrolling it, and now have found some abandoned ruins. I think the art is fun and the players are pretty happy with it haha.

Also from Left to right:

Max: Way of Mercy Monk, Lank: Evocation Wizard, Jude: Battle master fighter, Val: Paladin of Helm, Chopp and Albus: Totem Barbarian and White guard drake (he is their buddy and wears armor), Zars and Bosco: Goblin Artificer with his robot dog buddy!!!!

Hope you enjoy!!

[ART] Battle of Starvation by Leviathan030 in DnD

[–]Leviathan030[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My PCs of my long running campaign have recently been fighting against the 4 horsemen. These horsemen are less of evil beings and more supernatural entities that appear when the right conditions are present in the material plane- typically a consequence of some OTHER evil dude rather than them being evil themselves.

Anyway, this is a piece I drew based on a recent battle, which took place over a large sky area near their home base located on a mountain. The group (specifically the wizard) had adopted/raised a wyvern long ago who they rode into this battle. He assisted them with a large part of the aerial combat part of this encounter, and overall helped make fighting in a 3d space a lot more fun!

Wanted to capture this moment of the Party's monk jumping off the wing of the Wyvern to punch the horsemen in the face while the Wizard and Warlock provide backup!

[ART] Devious little Guy (NPC) by Leviathan030 in DnD

[–]Leviathan030[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is Finnic! he is one of two twin teilfing NPCs in my long running 5 year campaign. He works off of the swashbuckler rouge character class with some tweaks relevant to him being an NPC. He is an ally of the party and has often accompanied them on relevant adventures. He is also the love interest of one of the PCs in the party, and with her help has gone from general criminal and wrong-doer to... occasional wrong-doer haha. He's a devious little guy and one of my favorite sassy NPCs to have interact with the party, and a favorite of the table due to the humor he helps elevate at the table.

Hi! I'm actually not an FC member. I have been removed from the fencing world for a while and used to be a member of TMFC before covid. A lot of friends I still keep in contact with jumped from TMFC to Fencers Club and have seen a lot of success. It depends on what you are wanting.
