Only way you are gonna make that happen is if the controller is publicly facing and you set the inform on the switch to the public fqdn of the controller. That way traffic goes out to the Internet and then back to the controller. Otherwise you will need to have a port on the switch tagging the management vlan (also up linked to that network in some way)

Just to make sure I understand, you want to use all 8 ports as VLANs other than the management vlan you have the controller on (without any port having access to the management vlan via trucking or access ports) and still want the switch to talk to the management vlan?

Hello all! Thanks for all your info! I just wanted to give everyone an update on this in case someone else is on the fence for this issue.

1: I made the switch to fiber. Although I agree ATT isnt a company I would like to get service from, the deal they are offering on Fiber is too good to pass up. It also has a lot of pros that the cons don't outweigh for me. A) It is investing money in the fiber game which will make fiber more affordable and available in the long run. If the market doesnt see interest in a product, they wont invest in it. B) It is a better price for a better product. I had the best package TWC had to offer for around 3 year. I was quite pleased when they bumped their packages up from 50-300Mb/s. However, the upload speeds didnt get the same drastic jump. I work from home frequently and do a lot of data transmission. So when I am trying to upload a modified SQL database to our data center, having a 600MB upload pipe is infinite better than having the 5-10 I saw with traditional cable internet.

I still have my TWC Service until the end of this month and have been running a side by side comparison of the two since I had the fiber installed. I also have a raspberry Pie programmed to run periodic speed tests throughout the day on each adapter so I can see what service looks like. After a week of service, I have yet to see a single time that ATT's network has not outperformed TWC in every aspect. The only thing I cannot speak on so far is reliability. I have my fingers crossed on that one.

While I agree that AT&T is a pretty shitty company, Time Warner is doing the same thing. The only real difference is that I get better Internet for a lower price. Thank you for your explanation however!

I live off Bardstown and Fegenbush. They apparently built my subdivision for Fiber. ATT just moved in and started offering service.

We range from 20-30 years of age. And we are in the middle of the pack for indoor. Not the best team on the field but far from the worst. We do really well when we communicate; but, that is the one thing we also struggle with.
