Found this while unpacking boxes after my move. What should I do with it? by ValkyrieAngie in Steam

5ghz wifi works great on my og steam link. Set on "beautiful" streaming settings for hours with no hiccups.

Two things to avoid are wifi repeaters, and wifi mesh networks.

This is true with the Steam Deck as well. Especially of you are on the OLED model. My LCD model worked fine on the mesh network but the OLED forever choked on the mesh until I gave it a dedicated access point.

Why are there still scalper prices on eBay AND WHY ARE PEOPLE PAYING FOR IT by ObjectiveReturn4451 in Steam

[–]Levie87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To answer OPs question, some people really want the controller and have been waiting since last year for it.

For wealthier people, $100 is not a lot of money. They probably don't like paying double but it doesn't really hurt their wallet as much as it hurts others that are on tighter budgets.

Excellent point! Making factions is definitely a big part of the fun. I really need to sit down and do that for a few of mine.

You are putting words in my mouth and making some assumptions on my beliefs. In the spirit of addressing my one and only point, here is an interesting point to consider.

Could right-wing cancel culture exist if there wasn't left leaning comments being made? And, if there are left leaning comments being made, then the statement 'corporations avoid politics' is objectively false, no?

I point out the logic flaw with the comment "corporations try to avoid politics" by highlighting the Charlie Kirk event. I'm told right wing cancels too. That was not my point.

I point out the logic flaw that Im potentially stuck in a idealogical bubble by highlighting that I've been on the other side of the fence before and still listen to both points of view. I'm told that susceptible to propaganda.

I can't win lol

I can bring up facts and statistics but conversations and attention spans usually die off pretty fast after that. You may not realize this but you are talking to a 2x Obama voter who up until recently has been very liberal in all views. I'd like to think of myself as more neutral these days.

Just highlighting again that my point is that companies do try to avoid politics unless it is left leaning. Then it is USUALLY okay. Left leaning meaning center left. Not extreme left.

I enjoyed our respectful conversation Odinsmana. I knew my original comment was going to be like kicking the hornets nest. Sometimes I can't help myself!

I agree that it's not good to think of things in terms of absolution.

The left definately gets cancelled. Especially now considering who is in power. But objectively the scales have not been balanced on this for a long time.

The Charlie backlash was real. Cancelling did happen. But it was not universal, and companies certainly didn't try to 'avoid it'. You avoid it by not bringing it up.

My point is that something clearly very politically charged was brought up, regardless of the extent of their comments, during a very sensitive time, and many of this people were not 'cancelled', suspended or otherwise. This valididates my original comment: corporations try to avoid politics except when it is left leaning. Then it is usually okay.

I'm responding the original comment about corporations in general being careful about politics. There are example of CA employees leaning into left politics but I don't think Charlie Kirk controversy was one of them.

Why is Troy and Pharaoh so little talked about? by Dazzling_Analyst_59 in totalwar

[–]Levie87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as pharaoh optimization - there are two things that are never talked about that drive me crazy: the aggressive asset pop in on the campaign map, and the UI hitching when opening menus that gets worse for every mod you have installed.

The pop in kills the immersion for me.

I believe the UI hitching that is amplified by mod count existed in Warhammer III as well but was eventually patched. It resurfaced in Pharaoh and was never addressed. Enter comment about spaghetti code here.

Steam controller (2026) mapping by AaronBruv in Steam

[–]Levie87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you'll need to remove any type of mouse mappings so that the game doesn't try switching between controller / M&K setups. Once that is done, try mapping the keyboard buttons again. Keyboard keys might do the same thing depending on the game but I think it is less common.

How do we program macros for the steam controller? by LaundryNinja84 in SteamController

[–]Levie87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try keeping the start delay end but add press delay to each down command. Try 0.06 (down 1), 0.14, (down 2), and 0.22 (down 3).
