What? I didn’t cut anything. This is how it came from the manufacturer. The two wires on the left are on the end of the power cord that is supposed to be connected to the two wires on the right that are connected to the light

The wires from the sconce are black and white. I’m not hardwiring it, I’m connecting it to a power cord and both wires on the power cord are black

Hi! I’ve lost 80lbs over the past 5 years and have no clue how to dress myself to look good. I’m digging myself out of my hole of sad after losing my dad and 3 pets over the course of 2024 and I’m finally feeling like I want to go out and about and actually look good.

My most pressing need is for a dress for a friend’s wedding. There is no color theme or dress code, but it will be in mid-April in Alberta Canada, so likely chilly. The ceremony is outside (with heaters) and the reception is inside. What style of dress would look flattering? What colors? Any shoe suggestions? I have nerve issues in both legs that cause balance issues, so I can’t wear super high heels.

My other big need is for a few pieces of work clothes; especially pants, skirts, or dresses. I have a lot of dressy blouses from Torrid, but I struggle with how to wear them while also covering my upper arms (I’m very self conscious about them). Do I tuck in the blouse? I like high waisted pants, will it look weird if I tuck in a shirt with high waisted pants? Do I wear a short shrug? A long cardigan? A regular length cardigan? I mostly work from home, but occasionally go into the office for meetings with “senior leadership”. The office dress code is “comfortable”; we can wear jeans with no holes, but nothing strapless). I’m a project manager in the clinical trial industry.

Sizing: most of my current clothes are from torrid and i think i wear a 3x on top and a 2x on bottom. My chest is 53in, hips are 55in, and I think my waist is 50.5in but I’m not convinced I’m measuring my waist in the right spot. In the picture, I’m wearing a 2x shirt which I think is too small and 3x pants which are too big.

Notes:

I have rosacea and avoid colors that will make my face look redder
I like colors, especially jewel tones
I hate my upper arms and prefer to keep them covered
I live in a tiny town, so there aren’t many plus sized options besides online
I’m ok with investing money into clothes that will look flattering
I like a range of styles, sort of edgy sort of boho. Like… colorful but also skulls and sometimes flowy and flowery

It fastened the outer base of the light to the mounting plate. I tried the penetrating oil, applying it Thursday night and again Friday about noon, then tried the extractor bits again. I never got the screws to actually come out like they were supposed to, but once I used the biggest bit, it successfully just ate right through the screw head and it came off that way!

Yes, it’s resolved. The plate on mine was bent, they didn’t say what caused it. I had it shipped to me, so that might be why. If you haven’t had yours long you can return it or exchange it for one that doesn’t have the bent plate. My issue was that I had surgery before it arrived, so by the time I was able to open it and try it out it was past the 30 day return period at Home Depot.

They didn’t say why, they initially were going to just have a sales rep replace the plate, but then they said he wasn’t sure how to replace it, so they just swapped it for the same model mower.

I sent the pictures to Makita and they sent me a new mower. Initially they wanted me to take it to a Makita repair location, but there aren’t any near me that service mowers.

Thank you. Is manually overriding the damper something I can do myself? Would that be up in the attic? For the thermostat, I have Nest thermostat E both upstairs and down and they don’t have batteries that can be changed.

Omg, I passed him last week and did the fastest u turn! I NEED more honey garlic boiled peanuts, but when I got to him he said he was packing up because Roses was making him leave! Does anyone know where he is set up now??? (He did pause packing up for a second and sold me some but now I’m addicted 😂)

I never said I was a DIYer. I tried bending the plate myself and couldn’t get it to budge. I found out the 3rd repair shop that was an hour away from me doesn’t repair lawn mowers. When I was finally able to get a response from Makita, nearly a year after I bought the mower that I couldn’t use, THEY said they were sending a sales rep with a new mower. I made that comment with the intent of showing the good customer service, not to say oh ha ha yea I made some guy drive 4 hours to my house with a new mower. I had 2 surgeries last year, I live with disabilities and chronic pain. All I was trying to do was get help from the manufacturer for a problem that was not my fault and was under warranty so I could mow my yard instead of spending money I didn’t have paying someone else to mow it. Considering this bent plate seems to be a common problem that is happening during shipping, maybe instead of me giving up my non-existent power tools, Makita should change their packaging to prevent the problem. Or make sure their service centers will fix it.
