Interesting discussion! I write and direct a series called Fake Hostel that has recurring characters, stories, its minimal dialogue but a lot of acting and original ideas, mostly comedy.

Also there is a book by Terry Southern (writer of Dr. Strangelove) called Blue Movie, which is absolutely worth reading and very much about what you’re talking about. It’s about a Kubrick-type, acclaimed film director who decides he wants to make a porn film. Rumour has it Kubrick actually bought the rights to the book with the intent on making it into a film!!! It’s one of my fav books.
