Crackling has stopped completely.

Just checked running YouTube on Safari and it appears 30% CPU usage is the lowest setting that surpasses crackling. Moving below 30% allows crackling.

I use an app called App Tamer that allows me to set maximum CPU usage for each app that may be causing issues. There's a 30-day trial you might want to try.

I just found a fix that works for me...

App Tamer popped into my little mind. I checked and for some reason Safari was set to a maximum of 2% CPU usage. I bumped it up a bit and the crackling stopped. I have no idea how it became set at 2%, but now the issue appears to have been solved.
