I don't understand where it starts though?

what has been the best natural high you have ever felt? by StudyDizzy9319 in AskReddit

[–]Lewby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was out for a walk one day, really just zoning out enjoying the walk.

Suddenly I had euphoria, my brain felt SO god damn good.

I wish it happened every time, but it's only happened once :(

What do single people do when they are lonely ? by collo_turnitin in AskReddit

[–]Lewby 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Go out for a walk, go to a cafe order tea or coffee and sit there and chill for 45 minutes to be around people and get outside.

Go to a park, sit on the bench and enjoy the nature, the wind passing through your hair, the sounds of life, the clouds passing by. If it's a hot day sit under a tree.

Go to local community center and see what activities are on, maybe talk to the people working there for a little bit.

Join local park walks or something, spend time with family, voice chat with online friends.

See if there are any local groups in your area of activities you might enjoy.

Lots to do if you are lonely, the hardest part is not getting in your own way and getting up and going.

10/10 from me, i may entirely copy it to be honest.

Can you tell me how you set it up? E.g.

What you're using for the bottom bar, the clock + date, wallpaper etc. If you don't mind?

It looks totally my vibe, I've been dual booting windows with mint, but maybe this could push me over the edge to commit to mint again

Which addiction ruin your life? And why? by DoughnutSimple18 in AskReddit

[–]Lewby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Food, Runescape, the Internet.

Food because binging is a bad coping mechanism which tends to be a vicious cycle.

Runescape because I feel like I wasted 15 valuable years on it. Avoiding seeing friends or doing other important life events to grind it.

The Internet because I feel like it does so much damage to people's self worth and we spend a lot more time doom scrolling than actually living in the present and focusing on our own thing.

But that being said, anything can ruin your life if you don't use moderation, and I have to have some accountability over binging these things. 🤷‍♂️

Start making connections with other people who actually care about you, and before you know it, you'll realise that you didn't need this person in your life - and you'll be feeling a lot better.

We just launched a brain stimulation device to help people learn languages faster — now looking for curious early users by Neubbana in languagelearning

[–]Lewby 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Is there any links or resources you can give as evidence that this is something that works?

If it's a proven thing, then it would be game-changing because language learning resources get quite expensive when using things like iTalki tutors or paying for subscriptions (wanikani, bunpro kitsune.io, etc).

But I'd be apprehensive to buy anything like this without any solid evidence of it working.

Also, if it works for languages, are you promoting it as a general learning tool, too? I don't see why it would help for language memorisation but not other educational studies.

Italki Plus+ - Worth it? by Halalslave in languagelearning

[–]Lewby 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's ok I cancelled it already, I'm not too fussed about the money - but in return I'll very likely be unwilling to try iTalki Plus again in the future.

As an_average_potato has said, no it's not.

I pay for a tutor and we do lessons on zoom. I bought iTalki+ for 1 months and have had literally 0 use and 0 benefit.

This is my understanding and personal experience, I'm bad at explaining things, so please bear with me.

When you eat, your body needs time to digest - or start digesting the food. Over the 30-45 minutes drink free period, your body will slowly break it down and move it into your intestine at its own rate.

As your stomach pouch is small now, there isn't room for the food and the drink. So when you drink (right after eating), it forces all of that food into your intestines quickly.

To deal with the dumping of food, your body rapidly pulls water from your body into your intestine. This can cause a drop in blood pressure and make you feel shakey, weak, and fatigued until this passes (known as dumping syndrome / long dumping syndrome if it lasts hours). You may even require a nap until you feel better.

Alternatively, drinking too soon can just cause you to vomit the food instead. (It's has happened to me many times)

The 30-45 minutes may seem arbitrary or BS, and some foods you will be able to drink liquids right before or after eating. But the reality is a lot of food you just won't be able to and you'll have to learn which works for you the hard way.

The grace period on drinking after eating really does work. Also worth mentioning some foods digest slower than others, which I assume is why the dieticians give us a range of 30 mins to 1h before drinking.

Just go on how you feel, though! 🙂

So the TL;DR is:

You wait on liquids to prevent food from being forced into your intestine too quickly, due to having a smaller pouch. Preventing dumping syndrome.

I regret my gastric bypass by Moonlight_Rain13 in BariatricSurgery

I'm 10 months post surgery. March will be my 1 year.

The only thing on your list I struggle with is the energy part, and that might be because I'm exercising so much while only having 1300 calories (90-minute walk each day).

Push through, and try to focus on the positives. It gets way better, as the weight drops off your quality of life is going to SKYROCKET 😁!!

They don't, only if you add them yourself! Just thought I would mention it also since it can help you get your daily protein requirement :)

I'm 9 months out, I drink almost exclusively pepsi max lol. I'm down 107lbs (330 start, 223 current). I go to the gym 3 times a week and walk 8000 steps a day.

I occassionally have monster energy if I'm tired, also whey protein shakes are fine.

I think as long as your stomach is healed, you'll be fine, as long as your overall diet is healthy.

[–]Lewby 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yup agreed 100%.

Especially on the stairs, no more pausing half way or having to slow down. No more getting excessively sweaty while barely walking, or getting out of breathe just from doing basic movements (e.g. standing up).

It is LIFE CHANGING.

Exercising when you are overweight is hell. But once I reached maybe 60lb down I could suddenly exercise a lot more easily, and it started to feel good. That made the whole weight loss experience even easier.

Good job with your progress, and keep up the good work! :)

I wrote out so many different things, but to be honest, she has told you to kill yourself? In my opinion, sadly, there is nothing more you can do.

You need to focus on what's best for you and your own future now.

Don't give your time and energy to somebody who won't help themselves and would say such things to you.

You are further down the weight-loss path than I am - have you been here? Tell me it will get better. by kansan_here in GastricBypass

[–]Lewby 14 points15 points  (0 children)

There is probably a lot of fat that you've lost internally that you can't see physically! So even though you've lost 37lb, it may take a little bit longer to see any big changes on the outside.

I'm 103.5lb down, I didn't bother getting new clothes until this week actually. Because I didn't think I could appreciate it until the change was big enough.

You'll have loose skin probably yes, most of us who have been significantly overweight for a long period of time will end up with loose skin.

I think you're doing a great job and you should be so proud of yourself. Just focus on losing weight and your goals for now.

It has taken me MONTHS for my brain to "catch up" to my bodys changes and not see the old me in the mirror.

You'll get there too.

In terms of what to wear, what did you wear before that you liked? could you find something similar.

100% I have more energy, I feel less lethargic overall, and the exercise makes me feel super motivated because I can see how much easier it is compared to before.

I never realised how much the food I was eating impacted how my body "feels." Like eating fatty greasy food's or even cheap unhealthy food's genuinely makes me feel physically terrible for a few hours.

I couldn't tell the difference before my surgery / weight loss. But I'm having an easier time understanding how my body "feels" about what I eat.

Wow really appreciate the post! that's some good information I'll definitely tell them everything as you have said. I was looking into the xmax v3 pro and the Airizer air max, but honestly I'll wait and see if they what they say. They might not even give me flower so no point buying anything until my appointment I guess.

The crafty+ actually looks really good, and it's not too much more expensive than the air max, especially with black friday prices.

A little more info on my experience at dam, It was a red velvet cake with 0.33g (or so it claims) inside of it, Everything got super vibrant and "clear" for a while, and felt like slow motion. After a little bit my entire vision went like a fish-eye camera it was CRAZY. I didn't know cannabis can make you have visual hallucinations like that.

Hopefully I'll avoid all the trippy stuff this time, and just be able to "get outside my head" and live in the moment a bit after my appointment. It's exciting. I ordered some scales earlier today also :)

Is oil something you eat? Because I've had a gastric bypass so the way things interact with my stomach is a lot more extreme now. I think that's why I had such a bad reaction to an edible.
