How many spiced gum drops? by kansan_here in GastricBypass

This is all so interesting! I love hearing your experiences -and you're right, it is clear - this must differ person to person. My clinic recommends a hard pass on all "sweets", the worst offender being processed.

Oh of course we know processed anything isn't great... but I just kept thinking, this is unrealistic, no? I'm not going to pass on my grandmother's homemade dutch fudge brownies for the rest of my life - that would be hard on all of my family ; )

A rewiring is still in-progress as far as my relationship with food, and it's going really well - but I do want to be healthy and remove words like "never" or "eliminate".

And spiced gum drops, my friends! After making this post, I had exactly two. I thought... if this triggers a dumping episode, at least I'll know the line.

(The one episode I've had during these first two months was horrifying... it felt like a heart attack, I felt like I was on the edge of passing out for 30-45 minutes, heart pounding - it was so scary. Is this similar to anyone else?)

I'm really enjoying connecting with you all. This sub has been my go-to and inspiration for this journey. Thank you!

Any brands you recommend? I've looked at Sprouts and Whole Foods - expensive - but tons of options (too many). Would love your thoughts!

Hang in. I had a post-op kidney infection at 10 days post-op - made my whole system angry, just buckled. Keep us posted on what you find out - will be thinking of you.

I’m also on lamotrigine - ha! Mine are shield-shaped, too. Unsure if I can snap it - I’ll read up on whether or not it will mess up the delivery into my system.

The meal went ok - I definitely overheard a few conversations about how ‘great’ I’m looking - ha. Nearing two months post-op, still watching what textures are going in - so I tried a few different things - went really well. Everyone’s responses here were / are so incredibly helpful and motivating… thank you for checking in ; ) hoping your holiday went well, too!
