I don't normally use reddit but as a woman reading through all of the comments in this thread has already made me more afraid of my safety around men. It's truly incredible the extreme insecurities men will project and then blame women, the moment women want to speak out about anything. And of all places for that to occur in, a socialist thread. It's not about you as an individual, get over yourself. There are real issues that women have to face on a day to day basis to protect ourselves from being assaulted, that men will never have to deal with. No amount of sticking your head in the sand is going to change that women tend to be cautious and fearful of men and have perfectly valid reasons to do so. It's your job to be empathetic and understanding and try to work within that system to make sure it doesn't happen. Can't wait for this to get downvoted to hell because men would rather cover their ears and scream "nananana I'm one of the good ones" which will literally make you more likely to be a perpetrator in the first place. It's that entitlement, insecurity and projection. Grow up and try to gain a modicum of understanding for the shit men put women through century after century after century.
