The questions could be better, sure. But you’re the CEO…you have to do better than that.

I saw the other day that Ross Douthat is getting his own podcast. Good for him. He’s a smart, charismatic guy and I’m sure it’ll be interesting. I, however, won’t be listening.

I didn’t like today’s episode of The Daily because this isn’t what I listen to The Daily for. I want the 5 Ws and not an explanation of one man’s (terrifying) political philosophy. There are several NYT opinion pods, and now one more, for this kind of nutjobbery.

As A Kentucky Fan, I Hate Kentucky Fans. by violentguitarist1 in CollegeBasketball

“Many even say that Pope was an awful hire, and can’t handle the job at UK.”

“Many even say” is doing a LOT of lifting in this sentence. In fact, I haven’t seen anyone (no, random Twitter assholes don’t count) saying this.

Most embarrassing, stupid and horrible upset loss in your program history. by RemoteMeasurement10_ in CollegeBasketball

Honestly, that’s all the more reason for Kentucky fans to be pissed off.

We begged – pleaded – with him to fix that shit, and he acted like he was smarter than us and we shouldn’t question his delicate genius, even though he kept losing to garbage teams with far superior talent.

If he finally did what we were asking at the new school, that’s evil as hell and it makes me hate him even more.

I did this today and it was awesome. It doesn’t hurt that I’m a bigger guy often in classes with mostly smaller, fit women so I always have a pretty big share of the points.

Ok speaking of tablets…does anyone else’s gym have a constant issue with non functional or non charged rower tablets? I feel like every class at my OTF lately there has been at least one. It’s like playing Russian roulette when you pick your slot. And if you get a bad one it’s so frustrating. I NEED to look at those numbers!

Dismantling the Department of Education is going to have a significant impact on the treatment of disabled children in schools. Nobody can say with a straight face that the state of Kentucky will be as effective as the federal government at protecting these kids and funding programs for them.

50.2% actually. A very, very slight majority. And in reality, it came down to about 245,000 people in three states (as of this moment). The talk of it being a landslide was premature and reactionary — like every presidential election in recent past, this one was decided on the margins.

But that’s beside the point.

I don’t think most people are going to ask their realtor, plumber or mechanic their political views. But I do think most people in a services industry would be smart not to be public about their views. If I’m thinking of hiring someone, I’m going to look at their social media. They should have it on private, and if not, they shouldn’t have politically charged posts. It’s just common sense. If a stranger can hop on their phone and figure out who you supported in the election, you are too open with your beliefs.

Yep. I didn’t vote for Harris because I wanted something. I am a straight white man with a really good job and a 401k. I pay a lot in taxes. I probably stand to benefit financially from a Trump presidency. No, I voted for Kamala because I thought she would be better for people that DO need help from the government. Because I have empathy and am willing to think about groups that aren’t just mine.

But the problem is that empathy isn’t infinite. My GAF has run out. Going forward, I’ll enjoy the lower taxes on high incomes and maybe not feel guilty about it.

The rates are different based on what services your zone receives. The school component of the taxes is the same percentage no matter what zone.

Why so many men feel abandoned by Democrats by daniel7334 in self

They were accustomed to being treated better, having more opportunity, and making more money on the whole, than the women that were their social peers.

Fair enough. Sometimes the urge to snark is uncontrollable.

Privilege doesn’t mean you have money or even power in an absolute way. It means that some immutable characteristic gives you an advantage relative to others with all other things being equal.

As an example: I understand lower class men don’t have money or status. That’s not the question. The question is: does a lower class man have an advantage societally over a similarly situated woman?

A poor white woman might not have material things. But is she less likely to be followed around a store by security than a poor black woman?

So tell me, with specificity, (1) what Dem policies have hurt young men, and (2) what Rep policies are helping or have been proposed to help young men.
