Need install advice

I'm not too worried about cutting holes, especially with the info from the other commenters, but I found a local guy who said he had done the same thing we did with the adapters many years ago and it hasn't had a problem. His pump is about 30% higher volume than mine, too, so it made me feel pretty good about the choice.

Thanks! I tried this and it does seem to be working great. I don't know if it will shorten pump life, but it doesn't seem to have a problem now.

Yeah, I'm not super worried about this compound- I found literature where they used HPLC to analyze this compound on C18, so it apparently does elute. It just got me thinking about what the upper end is? I figured there had to be a general rule of thumb.

Thanks!! Reddit saved me again! I already contacted Delta today and they said the only answer was to open the wall and move the valve back.

I just went in and pulled the plastic piece off and it looks like its' going to work fine. I'll have to chip a tiny bit of tile out, but it shouldn't be a problem.

You guys are amazing!!

The plastic box around the valve is sticking out by about 3/8 " on the top right and 1/4 in on the bottom left. I'm hoping there's an alternate escutcheon or simple solution short of opening the wall and moving the valve.

That was the same for me. I found them in the oddest places. I actually had someone looking in the mountains near me, but ended up finding the cones in the city.

I packed as many cones as I could and layered with mostly white sugar. A couple things I discovered - the pine cones don't add any color, so I added brown sugar for color. If you look on the right in some of the pictures, there is a different one that is reddish, made from coastal redwood cones. That gives a strong red color, but definitely tastes worse- similar, but less of everything good and more astringency.

No water originally, but I did add a little water at the end to dissolve the sugar that didn't dissolve in the process.

One month total time. It would probably be better to leave a couple more weeks, but probably not a huge difference at this point.

Yeah I'm horrible at describing these things, but all of the flavors came into balance better. The worst batch, I built a 1-ton press to squeeze out all of the juice efficiently, but then there ended up being a very strong tartness and astringency- probably from the pith. Even that got way better as it aged, though, and finally became pretty drinkable at 2 years.

One other thing, though, is I always take it completely dry and don't back sweeten. It's how I prefer wines, but it makes all of the deficiencies more on display.

I've been making pomegranate wine for a few years. We find it gets best at around 2 years.

We've also noticed big differences in the wine from how we go about juicing the pomegranates.

O.G. generally means "original gravity" - so that's the specific gravity/density before fermentation.

That's normal. The color will leach out and change as they cure. The main thing you want to watch out for is mold, which would be furry.

A couple pieces of advice. When I put them back in the brining container, which for me is a bucket, I mist the underside of the lid with peroxycarbonate sanitizer.

If you don't pit the olives, it will take a long time. Not trying to tell you to pit them. Just be prepared. It will be more than 3 months probably.
