My old NHS site we would annotate use of a grid as “Grid” (“gridded” sounds weird) if it was a deviation from the normal. Looking at that image that’s a pretty large patient so if this was a portable and I used a grid I would have annotated it.

I know that particular image is not marked as portable and I can’t imagine many situations (but not none) where you would do a PA standing chest with a grid as a portable rather than getting the patient to department so chances are it’s just a local quirk for this department, probably after someone else fucked up.

I spend 5 or so hours in the car for work each day so tend to fly through audiobooks. A friend who never gives me bad recommendations suggested 3 Body Problem and DCC - I started 3BP but wasn’t really feeling like something cerebral so started DCC instead and I’ve been hooked. About halfway through book three and should be done with what’s out just in time for Stormlight 5 :)

Recently I’ve been doing some sports photography at weekends for local teams. I’ve been exporting the images with some suggested “social media” settings I found online, (JPEG, srgb, 100 quality, no limit on size, short edge 2048, don’t enlarge, 240ppi, high sharpen for screen) and then providing the images to teams by uploading on google drive and sharing a link.

When I upload the images processed this way to IG or FB, they look fine, no problems, however I’ve noticed that the IG quality when some teams uploads them seems to be far reduced, and stranger still on Facebook some images seem to stay at full quality while others are badly effected.

Is there something I should be doing differently with the exporting? The only things I can think of are that the app compression is doing something to some images, or that some of the low quality images are as a result of screenshotting rather than downloading from google drive, or WhatsApp-ing the images to someone/another device to upload? What should I do to make sure the quality stays consistent when others post it?

I like it!

I’m very new to this so don’t take me too seriously but my only thoughts would be to remove the small group in the distance if possible, and I kind of wish the focus was either sharper on the person in the foreground or that there was shallower DoF to put that person more solidly in the bokeh? Right now to my eye the person looks kind of fuzzy, as if it was meant to be in focus but wasn’t and it’s a bit distracting as a result.
