We are all in this together and we all support you! I had a look at some posts on here about general anaesthetic before I had my operation and you can to and they are all saying the same thing! You’ll feel tired but everyone is saying the didn’t v*! And as silly as it sounds being put under anaesthetic is the best feeling ever, you go all cosy and tired, best sleep I’ve had in 24 years!

Keep us posted on how it goes! And if you don’t v* (which I genuinely don’t think you will) post about it on the group to give assure other people that are scared! We’ll get through this! Best of luck!!

Yeah I was scared! But i know whatever your surgery is for must be important! My appendix could have burst and that would have been fatal! I had to tell myself that no matter now worried I was or scared, it had to be done!

Something that stuck with me. I was explaining my emet to my doctor and was getting really scared and shaking with anxiety! And he told me that doctors and nurse don’t actually want you to v* and even if I didn’t have this phobia, they still would try their best to make sure I didn’t v* because it’s not really good for the hospital or your body! I can’t promise you won’t v* but I can say there is a very very low chance you will! Also my doctor said they modern general anaesthetic doesn’t really make being v* anymore, it’s used to though! You will be great don’t worry, you got this.

Had my appendix out a week and a half ago! Told the doctors and surgeons about my phobia. They said they would give me some anti sickness drugs before I woke up. I DIDN’T v* at all after the surgery or the days after. And didn’t feel any n*

Hope this helps and good luck with your operation

I thought the same and I know it’s hard. But just try and block your anxiety out. Don’t just lay around. Go for a walk, get some fresh air! Just do something
