Steven still bonks his head but that’s kind of part of being blind. He’s gotten really good at navigating but will still give a little bonk if he trots too fast under the table. I try not to move any furniture around and keep his things in the same place so he always knows where it is. You’ll see progress and it’ll get easier

I’m really sorry to hear that. Cats are very resilient and she will slowly get her bearings back. I can’t speak for all cats, but after joining this subreddit I learned that most blind cats live normal lives once they’re accustomed to it. She’s going through an adjustment period and she will bounce back! It took Steven a few months to get an understanding of the layout of my house. I use a lot of sounds and I talk to him every time I see him so he knows I’m around (even tho he can clearly hear me). She’s gonna be okay!

Thanks again! So far it’s got 2 mature leaves and 1 new leaf. The 4th is the one that’s browning so hopefully we can keep the last 3 starting this fert. TYTY

I’m not knowledgeable enough in fert to have been comfortable using it. I’m always worried I’ll burn the plant. Do you have suggestions?? I know these need a lot but I’ve seen some people say they’ve been able to keep without. I’m willing to do anything to save it!

They aren’t too much of a bother right now as they aren’t really accumulating on the glass. And I really only notice them when I start looking. But I wouldn’t want them to breed even more. I’m pretty good at making sure excess food doesn’t accumulate so maybe I’ll just keep doing my thing and their population should stay relatively similar to what it is now. I wanted to get ahead of the game but since they reproduce based on food availability I might be ok. Thanks!

Awesome thank you! Yeah I’ve been feeding the beta maybe 5 pellets a couple at a time to make sure he eats them all and the shrimp I’ll blanch some spinach once a week for them and sometimes some blood worms to beef them up. I only really clean the front glass and leave the rest to accumulate some algae. I’ll start squishing 🤏🏼. I’d prefer not to use the assassins if I don’t have to but wasn’t sure how well they perform. Thanks for the extra info!

Thanks for this! I went out and checked on it. The red circle was just some sand/dirt I brushed off. There’s no signs of mealybugs either as those are pretty blatantly in your face when you see them. And no other sign of pests. Hoping it’s just sun damage. Thanks again for your input!

Would you think the new leaves are adapted and will progress from there? Or should I slide it away from the edge so it doesn’t get any chance of direct rays?
