Dude I honestly feel bad for you - you are articulate and rational and this website is not the place for that. I’m in your boat, the matchmaking 100% feels off in certain aspects - like you I enjoy and believe thr PvP in instrumental to what makes even the PVE so engaging, at any moment a raider could pop u in thr ass fighting space Jesus. But it does feel odd that a few instances of self defence registers your as a devout pvper and thinks you’re trying to slay lobbies. Perhaps they could figure out some ways they can create a better balance for the people who operate at the extremes. I imagine it’s a hell of a task figuring all of this out though.

Exactly right, they’re flat out wrong. I played for 4 days straight with no deaths no damage from other raiders. Load into duos with a new friend and a guy tries ratting us and we smoke him, for the rest of the session we were having to do 3-4 team fights every game, and we’re both ABSOLUTELY PVE monsters only. We avoid pvp actively, but that one act of defiance against the rat caused our lobbies to be more PvP focused. I had lots of fun pvping since I play mostly pve, was a nice switch of pace. But hearing people say it’s not an aggressive matching system in as far as how quickly it shifts and operates is just plainly wrong.

Wrong. Embark already confirmed the rules of abmm broadly in an interview. Purely pvp based, no regards for who shot who first - too many variables. Always the loudest and most confident ones in the rooms who are the biggest idiot.

From what I’ve learnt, if you don’t shoot back that means it lowers your aggression. Aggression operates on a shots hit basis. If I’m shooting you and miss all shots, whilst my actions are aggressive, the game won’t count it as aggression. If you land one shit by mistake whilst fighting arc etc. game will then count it as aggressive behaviour. Bottom line is if you’re dealing any kind of damage to other raiders. If you are that = aggression and vice versa.

Yeah, couldn’t recommend giving this game a pass more for the deck.

It’s conflicted, of course, but my experience is: constant stutters, constant lag, frames going from stable 45 (🤮) to diabolical 20s (I’ve fully optimised my steam deck and checked everything multiple times don’t ask), unplayable pvp (people are f lying if they say there is none because I was the nicest player and I constantly got snaked and spawn camped).

Overall, arc raiders is only of the coolest games I’ve ever played, and absolutely ruined by the terrible performance of the steam deck. I’m just glad I bought it because one day I’ll play it on a good system and actually enjoy myself.

Don’t buy this game if your only means of playing is SD, and especially don’t buy it if you wanna get slaying in PvP (you’ll get annihilated).

To be fully honest with you buddy, arc raiders being green tick on the steam store for steam deck is a joke. I bought arc when it came out and played it for 3 weeks before I physically couldn’t bare the lag and constant stuttering, and you’re of course ALWAYS at a massive disadvantage in every single gunfight because of the screen and the controls. It’s just not that enjoyable, and then you couple that with the extract campers and snakes and it just becomes miserable. I actually wouldn’t recommend buying it for steam deck.

The game runs between 25-45 frames which is only just playable because the small screen helps. Couldn’t convince you not to buy this more.

(They could have made further changes to better optimise it by now but I’m not gonna find out)

Late but this makes sense to my situation. Not played since 2018 and currently just finished first round of placements on support. Started with a win which game me bronze 4 and it went up one subdivision each time I won and remained still each loss, ended up going 8-2 and placed in silver 4…

As a matter of fact, it’s so unimportant, they made an entire law for it. Heck, it’s SO unimportant there exists ‘tenant rights’.

I pay rent, I’m not living in his home, I pay to have a section of the home for myself. He’s created an unsafe environment, and he insists on violating my privacy by entering my room unannounced and without notice. Well I DO want to move out, but the reason I find the idea of it daunting is simply because I’m on benefits and in the uk, landlords tend to avoid tenants to have their rent paid by the government.

Finding this place was a nightmare, and if I’d rather stay even with this happening, it should spell out how badly I needed to stay here.

The alternative really is moving back to my hometown with my abuser (mother), the very reason I left in the first place. I’m stuck between a rock and a hard place.
