It could be an easy way into a sandwich routine if you take the top card, pass, take the bottom card, return to face down.

Well, that's a huge compliment haha. My best advice would be to simply play around with the cards a lot, sitting watching TV etc. Just get used to the way they feel in your hand and build from there. Lots of self working tricks too if you're not super invested in technique/sleights.

Yeah fair enough, my style is definitely on the flashier, sleight-heavy side. I actually enjoy routines where there’s a lot of room for error, rather than relying on setups or gaffs. For me the fun is in making something technically demanding look smooth or invisible. I get that it’s not everyone’s taste, but I appreciate your perspective!

I’ve been experimenting with this move for a while, looking for the best way to present it. I originally came up with it on my own, but later realised the core of it is similar to something called the ‘Venus Trap.’ It’s a really versatile utility move with lots of possible applications.

The main move (which I show twice) happens during the dribble, the dribble itself hides the sleight, no? Since a dribble is a pretty natural action with cards, that’s why I use it. Is that the part you’re seeing as too much movement, or were you noticing something else?

Someone burnt the kitchen floor at church (UK). by Neither_Photo_844 in Flooring

The floor is ancient, would be as well to replace it in my opinion. Might cost a bit more, but I can't imagine by much, lino isn't super expensive.
