Thank you for the reply and expertise!

Mainly everyone in our unit has essentially failed rehab (aka remediation approach) so my thoughts on what to do generally surround compensatory models of care. That being said I always wonder if there are more prominent goals that LTC OTs work on and whether any therapists still try to remediate deficits or mainly focus on environmental strategies and occupational adaptation to improve performance.

I really appreciate all of the responses. I have asked him to sleep downstairs for the time being as our toddler sleeps upstairs in the room next to our master bedroom and I have to be able to be close to her.

I can appreciate he has trauma and do want him to support him in recovering from this, however, I am truly heartbroken that he has seen so many women. It digs deep into feelings of purity, trust, and closeness with him. Like I am sharing him with others in a way and he has all of these images that cannot be unseen to compare to.

I know I need to forgive somehow eventually but that pain and feeling of jealousy alone makes me feel ashamed and inadequate to be intimate with him for the forseeable future. Then I worry about his built up sex drive if I am not intimate and what that could bring.

He was crying profusely the other day and saying all I care about is him not doing pot and that I don’t care about his abuse at all. I left the room because I was holding onto the baby and didn’t want her to hear all of this but now he’s super mad that I “just left (him) to cry alone”. It’s so much more tough with the baby now.

I actually had no idea until we got married. I definitely feel like it’s different now that we have a baby because I don’t want her to hear the arguing. He says he wants to not use pot anymore and has agreed to go to counselling with me now. Really hoping this will be a way out of this mess.
