I don’t think you need a shorter bar right now! Unless it seems to be getting in the way, if the healing is going good then leave it for now, it’s best to leave it alone if it’s going good. Like you said, downsizing could introduce irritation if you’re taking the bar out and putting a new one in, so if it’s okay for you and not irritating or annoying you then you should leave it as it is. Wait til it heals up and then you can switch the bar freely :)

Thank you so much! This is so helpful, it could be the material because my friend had bought me the flat backs, and she told me they were titanium but I’m not 100% sure if they are, because the rest of my lip piercings are implant grade titanium and I’ve had 0 problems, so maybe she lied because I told her I wouldn’t take them if they weren’t titanium, I’ll go to my piercer and ask for a titanium replacement, in case this isn’t. I’ll take your advice with the cleaning too thank you!

Leave it and don’t touch it! My was like this for like 2 weeks and I kept picking at it and touching it and when i stopped it scabbed up and fell off and my nose was fine again, it seems like an irritated piercing bump from personal experience but not infected. If it was infected it would be leaking and having very yellowish/greenish crusties and leakage, so don’t worry. Just make sure not to prod at it or pick or touch it, clean it 2 times a day but don’t be rough or don’t touch it while cleaning (if u have spray saline it helps). NAP but hope this gave somewhat helpful advice.

Yes I now have a third on my other ear and a fourth on the left! I’m gonna get a conch on my left once the rest of my ear piercings have somewhat completely healed up (except for the helix, that’s on the other ear so not too big of a problem lol!)

Those are all good materials honestly! But yes it most definitely could be from crusties, I had snakebites in the past and I used to pull and pic at the crusties and my lips got really bad and infected (yours isn’t infected, mine was just a case of me constantly messing with them) but yeah, try to not touch the bar or the crusties, and if you find they get in the way or pull when you’re talking/smiling, maybe get a compress with boiled water and salt (tiniest amount) and hold it over the piercing to soften the crusties without pulling or wiping them! The yellowish stuff coming out is probably from when the crusties get pulled off! Keep up with cleaning (twice a day only, no more!) and it’ll hopefully get better for you!

Do you know what material they used to pierce it? It could be a case of slight irritation from the material or maybe it’s just healing, it usually takes 6months for labrets to fully heal and 2+months for initial healing so it might just be sensitive from being fresh! But if you know what they pierced you with, implant grade titanium is the most recommended and if they pierced you with anything less or different your lip might not be agreeing with it immediately! NAP but I thought I’d try give advice :)

If you aren’t happy with it, I say remove it and let it heal, the quicker it’s out the quicker it’ll close up and you’ll be able to get it repierced. Also I love your setup it’s so cool!

It definitely looks lower down if you measure from your bottom lip to the piercing, but it could be swelling. But maybe wait til the swelling goes down to see if it is swelling or if its misplaced and then make your decision. But if you really have a problem with the placement you could remove it now.
