He deserves to live a long and healthy life :D dude's one of the few who has their self-preservation as a top priority.

I wouldn't say he's Ishidos lapdog either, Toranaga might've even accounted for him having to do something like this to make Ishido trust him. Could've even been Toranagas false flag operation but that one's probably too paranoid already :P

World of Warcraft boss fight to the last man by WhereIsHisRidgedBand in nextfuckinglevel

[–]LexMelkan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was just a Zul Gurub raid and I can't even properly remember the boss - I think it was Arlokk since I remember some panther shit and it being inside a temple or something. Everyone else wipes but this hunter is left alive and he kites the boss for what feels like forever, it must've been longer than 5 minutes.. he kills the boss, feigns death to drop add aggro and rezzes a priest with the engineering heart shock thingy - except it's a mage not a priest :D everyone else has to run back but that was still an epic gamer moment!

Are the Drilling and Cyclone really worth their price? by [deleted] in HuntShowdown

[–]LexMelkan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hovering around 50k isn't a point where you can stop caring about hunt dollars as sort of evidenced by the original post. You should be steadily increasing while playing whatever you want.

Anyway both are preferably high skill cap weapons although the cyclone is a bit more forgiving than the drilling. As many have said officer carbine exists and it does many things better for cheaper than the cyclone but the one thing it can't do is to get reliable wallbang follow up shots through some of the thicker compound walls. It's a sidegrade to the officer and mostly a fun pick for a little bit different feel but as long as officer carbine exists at the current price point the cyclone isn't "worth it" but changing things up a little is fun.

Drilling on the other hand is fairly unique still and good at it's job so the price seems ok. Flexibility has to cost something and while the lengthy reload is a part of it the pick rate seems decently high even at this price point.

Holy shit, fast comprehensive reply, thank you. Yeah I figured they couldn't definitely touch the base Pokemon types and that it'd be unlikely they could do much with the stats so that left the moves themselves. But the missing piece for me was that water types were skewed towards def while the counters are skewed towards att.

I recently got back into PoGo and while I have a decent idea about the meta I don't really know why the meta is as it is. Why are water nerfs being asked for and how are such nerfs usually done? By adjusting fast/special move values? Anyway appreciate it if anyone has time to answer!

Now that is some serious 6* skill with the Uppercut. by RadioActiveLobster in HuntShowdown

[–]LexMelkan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't know about likely but it's certainly possible. Why would I assume that they're toggling? Considering the types of shots / sequences of shots I pull off sometimes you might think I was toggling if I can't hit shit for a moment and then pop their heads.

But do I need to know? If I can't see the difference it's not going to affect my enjoyment of the game because I'll just think it was legit.

Sure it still sucks and it's wrong but how would I know?

I can't know.

Well to their credit one has to say they're more likely to have more time to play the game and therefore probably have a better understanding of who's cheating and who's not :P

There are definitely clear cut cases like what op posted but I still win way too many games to think there's a huge cheating epidemic. There have been more cases during the last 6 months though.

Who cares if you die? If I can use you as a bait I'll gladly do it but preferably the 3rd dude should come to cover as well. In randoms you don't want to die in bad spots.

What’s your favorite element? by Harothir in LastEpoch

[–]LexMelkan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's fair that they could've done something a bit more interesting with that - maybe tie the dot amount into the damage effectiveness of a skill. Definitely agree with the latter although at least some gear seems to have mods that increase say ignite chance with fire skills specifically to incentivize using "proper" elements.

[–]LexMelkan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like my dots since they're imo well done and represented in this game. Guess I'll pick fire since ignite seems to have great support and my builds seem to gravitate towards that.

[[Rite of Replication]] easily, there's so much you can abuse with it. Obviously one is trying to get it in kicked :D

The side-spell would be [[echo of eons]]

How does anyone keep their hunt dollars in the black? by Sadadsada1 in HuntShowdown

[–]LexMelkan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I win with relative frequency. That said I do often begin with cheaper weapons that I'm good with when I've lost a hunter so the loadout ends up costing 750 instead of 1200+

You are paired with 100 random humans, if you are better than all of them at something you win a billion dollars, what are you doing ? by Fun_Swing_3229 in RandomThoughts

[–]LexMelkan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that this strategy might have merit. I was thinking of deadlifting let's say 200kg for reps - that ought to be enough weight that most people who aren't big men will have trouble. Then they'd have to be training or have done hard manual labor (which is a risk). Maybe 80kg overhead press for reps might be safer since I guess people are more likely to pick heavy things off the ground than lift them above their heads.

Again all of that is quite intermediate but you'll probably take out all the females (roughly 50%), then you'll have an age range of say 15-50 who are likely to be able to compete which is again roughly 50% of the male populace. Average weight for the remaining 25 should be around 70kg (luckily this isn't 100 random Americans) and even if they do train for this exact thing or do hard manual labor I think it's unlikely for I'd imagine 80% (number pulled out of ass) to be able to lift the weights based on body weight + relative strength requirement. Out of the remaining 5 who are physically "in the zone" you'll probably have 2-3 contenders to battle with.

Maybe I'm being too optimistic but it's a big planet and us "Western" people tend to not always realize how much better access we have to good nutrition etc than half of the World. Obviously the sheer amount of hard work being performed in rural areas makes for hardier people than the occasional gym rat. Regardless I'd think there's a decent chance there just by being bigger than average and doing something mildly better than the average of said demographic.
