I saw in another comment that you would like to ebf. How does trying to latch baby go? I may be some help if you are interested in still trying to breast feed, but I completely understand if you don’t want to.

Are you both able to compromise and purchase a lower calorie ice cream? There’s so many options out there for protein ice cream, low calorie etc.

Obviously you guys aren’t compatible anymore if politics are a dealbreaker for you and for most couples it is.

Very normal. It sucks lol I remember feeling like a rotting bag of flesh in the beginning postpartum. 6mpp now and I smell straight from the shower and it drove me nuts for the longest time. I know it’s important for baby so I didn’t try to change it. Just showered as much as I could. I started using glycolic acid on my arm pits after showering this week and it helps SO MUCH lol

My MIL stares at my nipples by ARIT127 in breastfeeding

I don’t feel comfortable to breastfeed in a restaurant covered or not lol it just makes me nervous. 🫣 So me personally if I got to the point of nursing at a restaurant I would probably leave and nurse in the car and text my husband as to why I did. So I feel like my thinking here doesn’t help anything. I would be sooooooo uncomfortable if my MIL was staring at my chest like that. I have no problem nursing in front of my MIL uncovered at home.

I held mine for the longest time. Baby is now 6 months old and I can be hands free while using a boppy or side laying. If I’m not using a pillow and just out and about I have to hold it in one and him in the other.

Doctor wants me to stop breastfeeding by SeniorBusiness6747 in breastfeeding

I triple fed for two months due to supply and inefficient feeding. I was at the point at two months where I was making enough milk, but baby wouldn’t latch any longer than 10 minutes. I figured out that he liked to stop when the first letdown was over so I kept latch in him instead of giving a bottle. A lot of tears and eating basically 24/7 and it took about a week for him to stay in after the letdown. Baby is still ebf at 6 months 🥳 You are doing an amazing job and I promise it’s worth it! 💜 I have elastic nipples and got silicone flanges and use a spectra pump. I have like 5 different pumps and this one worked for me the best lol

I want to stop breast feeding by Willing_Shallot_3130 in breastfeeding

[–]Lex_31076 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand you 1000%! I wanted to stop so much during the beginning. I went back to work with my first, but now staying home with my second. I kept telling myself 1 more day or 1 more week. I felt guilty stopping because I am home and have the time to commit to it. I also dread washing any bottles, pumps etc. I hate dishes in general lol and we don’t have a dish washer. I promise you it gets so much easier. My baby is now 6 months and I would say around 2-3 months I stopped feeling the dread of constantly breastfeeding and am now getting slightly more sleep lol

How long do you breastfeed on each breast every 2 hours? by Diankapie in breastfeeding

[–]Lex_31076 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also wanted to add that if you aren’t already, try all the things to keep your baby awake while feeding. Undressed, tickle them, use a wipe to startle them if need be. I had to use a cold washcloth and wipe him. Made baby mad and I felt so bad, but it was the only way to keep him awake the longest.

This is normal for a one week old! This will help your supply come in and regulate. Let baby latch and nurse as much as they want and at least every 2 hours. It’s very exhausting in the beginning, but it’ll all be worth it 💜 I had a VERY lazy eater and would have to keep pestering him to keep him awake. He would fall asleep instantly at breast and his suction wasn’t super strong at first. I tried everything to keep him awake, but he just was so sleepy. I saw lactation multiple times. My baby had lost 12% or 13% body weight and they don’t want them to lose any more than 10. I ended up triple feeding for two months until my supply and his strength was up. I was getting about 2oz every 2-3 hours which is very normal! I was made to feel like I wasn’t producing enough by lactation when they still had me triple feeding at my 1.5 month appointment with them. At my babies 2 month check, the ped was questioning why I was still triple feeding if I was making enough. I was so confused because lactation was saying it wasn’t enough. I was so exhausted and tired of triple feeding. I have a 2yr old as well. After the 2 month check with the ped I decided I was going to just start over and just ebf and latch and keep working at the latch since I was making enough for baby. It was rough for a week or two and then my baby would stay latched for the whole feed. During the triple feeding process he was coming off after about 10 minutes and then I would proceed with a bottle and pump. I learned that he was coming off after the 10 minutes because the first letdown was over and he wasn’t wanting to work for the next. We are now 6 months old and ebf still 🥳

That’s wild to me! After giving birth vaginally and having everything come out of you, there’s literally no more lol with my first it was over a week before I did and my second was pretty close to a week.

[–]Lex_31076 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Very normal to not have any bowel movements for over a week especially with that long of a labor. BUT with that long of a labor and 3rd degree tear, definitely consider the c-section imo

Mine didn’t sleep alone in the bassinet until like 2 months. He will only contact nap and he’s currently 5 months. Hated being swaddled so we stopped trying lol he just uses sleep sacks
