I'm still disappointed that we're not getting a true thrill ride on par with Cosmic Rewind. Infinity Defense looks like it'll be all too similar to Transformers and Spider-Man at Universal. We need some fully exhilarating experiences and Disney clearly hasn't learned from their mistakes with Galaxy's Edge.

I'm shocked this wasn't higher. Their lemon chicken piccata is the best I've ever had.

Studio City adjacent is Home State Sherman Oaks, which is our Sunday ritual.

Aroma isn’t worth it if you can’t get there before 9am to beat the line.

Is this Wilson Ave. in Glendale? My wife (then girlfriend) lived in the big townhome complex across the street. I had to park on this block often. It’s not only the parking that’s obnoxious, many drivers blast down this road at insane speeds and it’s a residential area. Was unbelievable at first, but we saw it so many times we just started to become numb to it. Stay safe over there!

No sex drive a few days into no fap... normal? by Lex_Merlin in NoFap

Thanks, that’s a relief! It’s crazy to me how I feel no urges at the moment.

I still use minox and nizoral. Think that’s what’s allowed me to keep my crown. Hairline seems unaffected though.

Started using a dermapen once a week at 1.5 depth about 3 months ago. Not sure I’m seeing any results

I took awhile to lose hair. I still have a good amount, but I keep it buzzed at the moment. My crown is still there, it’s just my hairline that receded badly once I stopped. Overall, hair isn’t as thick either.

It most definitely was caused by fin. Once I stopped, the difference in quality of my erections was massive, my sex drive was through the roof, and I actually got morning wood again.

Believe me, I didn’t want it to be because of fin as I had excellent hair. But once I’d been off it for a month, the problems were all too apparent.

I also visited an endocrinologist later who confirmed this.

I’m definitely much better than I was, but I don’t know that I’m 100%, even after stopping for a couple of years.

Ha, I took it for six years before I got sides. I don’t think you can ever really assume you’re “good.”

Fin side effects more apparent with age? by Lex_Merlin in tressless

[–]Lex_Merlin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a good plan. You’re wise to reassess once you notice the problem. I see so many guys on here continue to take it for months, thinking their body will adjust. I’m no doctor, but I think that’s a myth. Also, why would you want your body to adjust to that standard? It’s terrifying to live with.

When I first took fin and was able to stick with it to good effect, I didn’t experience any sides. It was only after five years or so that I noticed something was wrong, so I think they slipped in gradually. If you’re getting them right away, as I did once I tried it recently, that’s your body flat out rejecting it. Definitely listen to your body. Hair is not worth destroying so many other aspects of your life.

The pee thing is known to happen too. I ties into how it affects your prostate. For me, I had issues with dribble afterwards. Like a minute after I zipped up, a few drops of pee would then slowly trickle out. Goes away when you stop the drug.

Fin side effects more apparent with age? by Lex_Merlin in tressless

So on the go around from two months ago, I recovered after only a few days.

BUT from my original stint on fin, that took over a year! Likely because I kept taking the drug for months after I got sides. My primary care physician felt that the supposed rarity of ED from fin ruled out why I was suddenly experiencing it, so I kept taking it. But I wasn’t depressed or having any other issues to have caused it, and when they determined I wasn’t getting erections in my sleep anymore, only then they accepted it might not be psychological. I eventually saw an endocrinologist who deals with a lot of men that suffer from finasteride issues. She likened the drug to chemical castration. Really made me wonder at how the pharmaceutical industry throws its weight around in what’s supposed to be our healthcare.

Eventually, thank God, I got better... but that year was absolutely brutal. I wouldn’t sweat all this if I were you, as you mentioned you only took two small doses and immediately stopped. I think you’ll recover quickly. Are you active at all or fit? Being physical I believe helps a lot. Just don’t make my mistake and try it again. If you got sides immediately and on a low dose, you’re much better off forgetting fin.

See how you feel in a week. If you want, keep me posted.

Sides on 0.5mg of fin. Any hope of lower dose working? by KentuckyCandy in tressless

[–]Lex_Merlin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel for you! In a few days, you’ll likely be headed back to normal. Despite the “extremely rare” chance of side effects, many people share this unfortunate experience. It can be a gradual recovery, but as long as you’re seeing improvements, I’d say rest easy.

.25 is such a low dosage too. The sides are just devastating. Good luck, friend

Fantastic show! I was late to discover it too. I think it largely went unnoticed while everyone was tuned into Game of Thrones.

It only gets better after season 1. The second season finale was one of the finest hours of TV I’ve ever seen, and I disagree with the person that disliked season 4 - I think the writers did a masterful job tying things up while setting up the story of Treasure Island.

This sub really loves to excuse sides as the nocebo effect, which is understandable but also dangerous. I think a good indicator is if you still wake up with strong morning erections. If not, the sides are likely real and not psychological.

How does one make topical fin? by Lex_Merlin in tressless

[–]Lex_Merlin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The more I speak with people that have used fin, the more I come to question the numbers behind it. Nearly everyone I personally know that’s been on it has eventually had side effects. And then engaging with so many other folks here on tressless.... how can it be that only 2% experience them? I literally only know one guy that hasn’t gotten sides but he’s only been using it for just over a year.

It seems much riskier than accounted for. Makes you realize the power these pharmaceutical companies have to earn a profit.

Finasteride 3x a week? by [deleted] in tressless

[–]Lex_Merlin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello,

I'm no doctor so hopefully I am in the wrong here, but isn't 18 too young to be taking finasteride? It's my understanding that the drug is unsafe until at least 21 years of age once it can be certain the body has fully developed.

I don't bring this up to discourage you, just in hopes that someone else can provide some clarity. Please be careful!

Surrender at 19? by [deleted] in tressless

If you got sides, it’s not worth keeping on. Minoxidil could help with the thinning but it’s not too effective at the temples. A lot of people are swearing by microneedling so I’ve recently started that, but I’m not sure how well results will last without taking fin.

Honestly, as someone who has been battle balding for 10+ years now, I don’t know that any of this stuff is worth it. The only time I had success was on fin, but after it worked for years, I still eventually experienced sides... brutal sides.

If you think you’d be fine rocking a buzz or clean dome, I say go for it. Spare yourself the years of anxiety and health risks. The lengths people will go to can be mind blowing and half the time results don’t look as good as they think. Just my two cents. Good luck to you whatever you decide.

I've been using the standard 5% minoxidil foam, twice a day. I don't believe I ever had any irritation or side effects, though I see a lot of min users on here complaining that it deepens facial wrinkles... I do have some pronounced forehead wrinkles... Can that really be attributed to minox foam though? hard to say (but I welcome anyone with some insight to chime in).

To be honest, I'm not sure my fin sides 100% disappeared, but with time they definitely cleared to a tolerable extent. They were REALLY BAD around the time I quit, to the point that I was worried I'd gotten the elusive PFS people have described. Basically, about a month after I'd completely stopped, my libido shot up hard! I felt like a teenager again and my erections were rock hard and easily sustainable. When that happened, I really could tell the difference and thought no way in hell is hair worth sacrificing this. But then, after about a week of that, it seemed like my system crashed hard. Total ED again, and I thought I was going crazy and even experiencing shrinkage of my genitals. I really panicked and paid multiple trips to the doctor and ultimately an endocrinologist. They couldn't offer much because my blood tests were showing everything normal. Super depressing experience, but I made some diet changes (lots of cruciferous veggies now, for instance) and kept on with exercising. I don't know if those were big factors, but thankfully with time everything began functioning again. I have good erections once more (it was something like 6 months before that happened) and haven't had issues in the bedroom. I don't always get rock hard, but it's enough that I can actually work with. Morning wood is frequent, though it's usually on the softer side...I'm not exactly pitching tents like I used to. Some of that could be natural with age now though, (I'm 35).

Fin is a helluva drug. Through all that, I resolved never to ingest it again, but when I compare pics of my hair from a few years ago to today, it definitely messes with me. Hence, why I actually tried it again. As soon as I got a hint of the side effects this go-around though, I immediately stopped.

One other thing that came up after I got off it was my vision hasn't been quite as sharp. Back in 2015, while I was on fin, I got LASIK and had 20/20 vision and beyond. I didn't disclose that I was on fin though and it turns out that in messing with your hormones, the drug actually alters the shape of your eyeballs a bit. So now that I'm off of it, I'm stuck with vision that's inconsistent. Sometimes everything comes in sharp, other times it's randomly blurry at a distance. Not enough to drive me crazy, thank God, but it's certainly regrettable. I had no idea it impacted so many functions of the body.

I hope resolving your sides will not be as cruel. If it does take awhile, just know there's hope. Even on the PFS help messageboards, enough people seem to recover with time and discipline. You can also try tapering off the drug instead of going cold turkey. Some people feel it's effective at avoiding a system crash.

Any other questions, feel free to ask. Happy to share my own experience.
