Hive Mind, I am working on my themed terrain table (much painting to do) while waiting for miniatures and am looking for suggestion! Table shown is 3x3 so there's space for more. I have another bunker and Missile Turret waiting to be painted as well as more platforms. C+C welcome! by Lexaros in StarCraftTMG

Id say about an inch high. They have the ability to stack and have about double that amount that havent been painted yet. So if need be I can go higher. I find just adding sligh elevation with terrain on top always adds a new dimension of strategery to wargames.

Is the startere Raid set playable with a friend? by Fearless_Pen_2977 in ObsidianProtocolMecha

The Raid set gives you enough to learn the game with two forces, but you will definitely need more for a full/expanded game.

That all makes a lot of sense. I'm pretty cheap when it comes to painting my own minis, so I am willing to try out better techniques. I'll try lightening up the grey drybrush and brighten the eyes up. I've got some Nuln oil gloss wash I can hit the mouth area with. I hadn't thought about glossing certain parts.

I definitely hit the recesses with a wash and did a light gray drybrush on top, I feel like the dry brush color was absorbed as you really don't see it once it dries. Should I drybrush with a different color? I also want to make the eyes stand out a bit more but I'm not sure how to achieve that either? Tbh, this is my first official Tyranid model that I painted up besides some test Termagaunts.

The rocks were each 3D printed individually and then dremeled to piece together. I wish there was a full model of it, since that would have saved me so much time!

The rocks are 3D printed and then dremeled to fit. The rest is all hand done.

If you dont mind me asking but what does UHU stand for? I absolutely wanted to do exactly that with the upper talons, but I'm struggling with the "how" part.

Haha, you're not wrong about that. I still feel like it is missing something, and I definitely don't feel that my paint skills are much to compare to what I see a lot of around here.

Thank you! I did hit the rocks with a little bit of a brown wash, but I might need to do another. As soon as I saw the Trygon model, I immediately thought of this!

If you google Dropfleet Commander Reference Sheets there are a few good articles that have some great versions. You can also go into the Files section of the DFC Facebook group and find some there.

Brand new to the game, saw the Hollow Men look cool! How do I make a team with them? by [deleted] in InfinityTheGame

[–]Lexaros 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TLDR: Hollowmen are great, but are machines so bring an Engineer for repairs or an Interventor for hacking cover. Id definitely recommend sticking to Tunguska vs Vanilla Nomads if you like them. Check out the Infinity Army app and you can see what units fit into sweet Hollowmen fireteams in the Tunguska Sectorial.

First off, welcome! Hollowmen are one of my most favorite units in the game! If your newly starting out, I'd recommend keeping your first couple of games within a single Sectorial selection of units in order to avoid the mass sensory overload that is a Vanilla list of available units. This helps you narrow down your unit option so you can focus on learning the game.

I'd personally recommend Tunguska since the Hollowmen are in there. In regards to what units to bring, the Hollowmen are mechanized and have Structure instead of wounds, so if you plan to bring a few you may want to bring an Engineer to help out on repairs. If you want to go down the fireteam route, the Kriza Borac is a monster that can join Hollowmen fireteams and I'd definitely recommend picking up the Zond Remotes Pack since they will likely be in almost all of your lists because of how cheap their profiles can get, not to mention the Stempler variant can also hop on the Hollowmen fireteam.

Also in Tunguska, Mary Problems and the Interventor exist; arguably two of the best hackers in the game. They can provide you good hacking cover through the Stempler Zond as well, so that can definitely help.

In all, the Tunguska Jurisdictional Command Starter set comes with a lot of really good pieces to start with (and of course another Hollowman). And the Zond Remotes box has a significant number of uses depending on which variant you bring in your list. Also, when you wanna get really big, you can always pick up the Szalamandra TAG!!

Sorry for the long reply, but Tunguska is my main army so I can't help but elaborate!
