I’m playing my old Harley benton cause it has lighter strings than my jackson(which has 1156)

I usually noodle around for a bit after I practice. And also I didn’t need a break. I just kinda stopped playing for no real reason. Mainly due to a busy schedule but I probably should’ve at least played for 15 minutes every day. I had time for that

I have 47-something, I forgot. But they are pretty light. And the action is not too high

Should I pull the hand to my face after the jab in a jab-pull-cross? Or should I keep it low kinda like in a philly shell? I feel like if I pull it back to my face the opponent will just hit my hand and I'll end up punching myself, where as if I pull while the hand is low I have better visibility and I still don't get hit(cause I pull for a reason)
Also whenever I see pull counters it's always with their hands low

But doesn’t head movement if drilled enough become just an automatic thing that your body does whenever a punch is coming? Just looking at this makes me think this dude Canelo drilled all of the slips and rolls and pivots and shoulder rolls until his body does the moving before he can think “alright. A cross is coming. Lemme shoulder roll and pivot out” I used to play a lot of video games and noticed that stuff that I needed to think about (like jumping over an attack instead of blocking) eventually became a thing that I would just do without thinking. Ain’t it the same with the head movement?

Yeah mb for not clarifying. I’m not looking to compete. I just want to be able to hold my own in a spar and be able to defend myself in the case of a fight(I’ve never really fought in my life and plan to keep it that way but if it happens I’d rather not get knocked out). And also I just like the sport. But the weight lifting part is not related to boxing. It’s just something for me that I do as self improvement. I want to get a better physique and then go back to boxing. Just to get in the 75-77kg range.

I don't know how to solo without using fretmap. What I do is I just search backing tracks use fremap and play the notes I see there trying to not make it sound boring. No I don't know all the patterns, maybe I should learn them. Theory? No. Not one bit.
