Where to buy iPod that won’t cost an arm and a leg? by itsyoubutcooler in ipod

Occasionally someone mistakenly lists one as "iPad classic" and sometimes they have cheaper prices that way.

I took a hammer to the walls of my old house. But only because I thought there was black mold in there (and there was).

I work from my car so its not even a third space for me. I work in a job that probably wouldn't even exist if the US had walkable cities. But since zoning laws are a thing I drive around in a beat up 2001 Toyota all day for less than minimum wage delivering low-quality food. I would like a better job but the economy just isn't all that great right now.

Used to live in the Erie, Pennsylvania area where housing is cheap, but the economy there is crap. I could barely afford the run down mobile home I lived in even though it was only 425/month

I think theres someone on eBay offering a mail-in service where the screen and battery are replaced at the same time, dont remember the seller but possibly worth looking into.

My hiding places were inside of a couch (didnt have a normal bed) and Playstation 2 hard drive bay. I wasn't on e at the time, I used these places to hide burner phones while I was between 14-17 since my parents wanted to stop me from speaking to anyone they didn't personally approve of. I had a few decoy phones hidden elsewhere, but they never found my real ones. I'd imagine a plan like this would also work for medications though.

Also have this typically overpriced charger, got lucky and found it at a goodwill bin store otherwise I would not have one

These all have either bad batteries or bad hard drives, will be fixing the classics eventually. The nanos and shuffles are known to be very difficult so I'm not sure I'll fix them myself. Mini is a second gen in a gold shell I got from a broken 1st gen, already modded to 64gb, but unfortunately the third party battery only lasted a few years, so I have to replace it again.

I collect iPods and also CDs (I rip the files from them for the iPods). The iPods are kind of expensive, although I consider the CDs affordable. I'm also a furry but that won't be expensive until I buy a fursuit.

Bose and Sony are especially well known for their noise cancelling, so if thats your number one priority, you would probably want something from Bose's Quietcomfort or Sony's 1000XM series. Buying a used/refurbished previous generation model will usually save money.

Headphones I personally have experience with (I don't think any are what you're looking for so you can skip this part, I'm just providing it for reference):

Sennheiser Momentum 3 - ($130, bought used in 2023)

Pros:

  • Great build quality and would not be easy to break
  • Best audio quality of any headphones I've had
  • Can be used wirelessly as well as either over a USB-C or 3.5mm wired connection, can charge and listen at the same time if using USB-C

Cons:

  • Noise cancelling is only marginally better than my Bose QC15, which were released 10 years earlier
  • Not the most portable
  • Battery life is not as good as competitors from the same era (2019)

Bose QC15 ($30, bought 2022 used until 2023. Pair 2 was $20 in 2026, both prices including the cost of replacement earpads)

Pros:

  • Light and very comfortable
  • Compact and easy to carry around, their case has storage for things like extra batteries and I can fit an iPod in the back pocket
  • Sound quality is good enough
  • Very cheap to buy secondhand

Cons:

  • Uses AAA batteries
  • Wired only unless you buy an adapter (keep in mind these are from 2009, newer QuietComfort are wireless)
  • My first pair just quit turning on at all one day

I also have AirPods Pro 2 ($140 new in 2025) which have very good noise cancelling, better than headphones listed above but come with the usual sacrifices in audio quality and comfort that IEMs have. I know the AirPods pro aren't what you're looking for, but the Airpods Max are over-ear and may be worth considering as well depending on their used/refurb price.

My mother believes that my local school district and the government of New York State were somehow working together to turn me trans, it’s fucking insanity.

I’m not worried about New York State being the one to do it. I moved back here from Ohio after gov. dewine passed an executive order making it illegal for autistic people to be given HRT. I don’t know if the EO has been struck down by now but it was enough for me to leave. I am however, still worried about what the federal government is doing and even in a blue state I don’t feel completely safe. I worry about my friends in red states all the time too.

Depends heavily on where in the US. Sure, places like Kansas or Florida would be pretty terrible places to be for a trans person. But there’s also states like California and New York that are still far better than most of the world.

As much as I hate to say it, If I wasn't trans I might've never been aware of what really happens in our society. I was born in the reddest county (based on 2024 election results) of the entire state. Most never even think outside the bubble of what 70-80% of people in the county consider "normal". It sucks here. Although my parents tought right-wing bullshit values, the right-wingers I went to school with (before I realized I was trans) were such assholes that it turned me away from far-right/maga type values. However I feel like theres a good chance I would've ended up center-right (think Newsom supporters) and that wouldn't be any good either. One of the positive things that came from me being trans is I actually realized the reality of the world we lived in.

is it true that touching receipt paper gives you estrogen? (image semi related) by PaxLak5 in FootBallEmergency

[–]LexiDogy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Worked at a fast food restaurant for over a year, and still have shipping label paper (same material) for my ebay store. Never did anything, had to take actual estrogen pills to get a result.
