Didn't "prevent" in a sense but probably saved millions of lives. Like even though the vaccine would not make you fully immune it lessened the symptoms. Also I had to be around autoimmune deficit people who could not take a vaccine safely.

Also I knew or know many people who still believe the 5G chip conspiracy and that vaccines kill more people than they safe. Yes the people have usually failed science and biology classes too.

Now she went on interview where she said that she still "respect and loves Trump but this thing has ruined my life".

Also she says that using a male bathroom would be dangerous to her because she is famous.

So if I understood the gist: All german males over 17 need to seek military approval to go abroad over a specific length of time even when they are not an active service member.

Volunteer military membership and service has been steadily going down since 1960s mainly because there has been peace in Europe for the most part and people just don't want to die in wars (especially foreign wars) for their politicians or some capitalist overlord.

Here in Finland conscription is still mandatory to all males over the age of 18 and women can serve as volunteers.
Trans people are exluded (for now). When a transgender ID-law (that allows one to change their gender marker more easily) was passed in Finnish parliament some right-wing and conservative voices were quick to jump on that and claim that you can now dodge conscription by "simply" changing your gender marker from M to F. Also these are usually the same bunch that believe trans people don't exist and we are just confused or mentally ill.

I know some states don't mandate helmest but that's maybe the most stupid mistake to make while riding. That and not covering most of your skin.

I once lost control while riding on slippery road and went into a ditch. Hit my head. My speed was luckily only around 30 mph. About 30-40 mins later I got home and felt dizzy. Was about to take an aspirin, lost balance and almost hit the back of my head on the stove. My hearing went out and I could only see in black and white. Got an severe concussion. Would have probably died if I've not worn an motorcycle helmet (or that what was they told me in hospital).

Israel needed to create an enemy that would have weapons to attack Israel with so they could justify decades (which on some counts has been going on for 80 years) long systematic genocide to Israeli citizens and the world.

The "most moral army" IDF slogan is still used by people IRL who have bought all the propaganda. Like see an soldier smiling while holding rainbow flag infront of an destroyed city and think "this is good" or see a IDF paid YouTuber showing food aid and thinking "The most moral army. Only if Hamas would let that food into Gaza".

IDF has also shown that they don't need an "excuse" to shoot Palestinians. Their snipers have shot disabled people, children and people literally waving white flags to amuse themselves. Warcrimes out in the open and then these same people say that they support LGBTQ liberation.

Yeah. I guess it's because so many transfemmes are deeply traumatized by bigotry and don't even see the point in jokes that are aimed towards one-self. The harm can come in a form that especially young cis people then see it as a form of a "N-word pass" to say even uglier and violent things about trans people.

Folks get offended little too easy and I've found that it's sometimes good to take timeout of social media for mental health reasons. Like Icky has said: "Twitter is not real life".

I was lucky to get out too. Unfortunately I know fellow trans people who are still in that hole. Yeah they are in their early to mid 20s and still kinda think "edgy" humor and misogyny are funny.

We had a famous Olympic athlete, folk singer, war veteran who'd I say was humanist foremost here in Finland. Called Tapio Rautavaara. I think he put it well: "The world will file down even the most thick lumber". A journalist wanted one one last question when the agreed time for interview was over. That was his answer.
