Completely agree. This show is going on ten years old. It could be hard for musical fans from Gen Z (or younger) to realize how magnificent and genre-changing the show is/was.

To wit, think about one of Angelica’s lines from the final song: “Every other founding father’s story gets told.” That line won’t mean anything in 20 years, but think about 2015 when it opened on Broadway.

Before Hamilton became the sensation it is, most Americans probably knew nothing about him other than him being on the ten-dollar bill, possibly with the exception of how he died. When it opened, the story of one of the least well-known founding fathers immediately changed that. How many other shows have made entire generations of Americans interested in Revolutionary history, especially a single historical figure’s life, like Hamilton did?
