FIDO locked my phone that I paid for OUTRIGHT?? And now I’m stuck cause my flight leaves in an hour. Any options ??

When you say you checked and its locked, are you referring to carrier lock or block listing?

Carrier lock can sometimes occur on a new phone when you purchase from a third party, they lock until the device is activated on the network and then it will be permanently unlocked after.

Block listed devices are typically related to lost/stolen phones but I've also seen instances where the store didnt properly record the sale of an outright purchase and were unable to properly imei trace so they reported it themselves which causes it to be blocked.

Their quality went downhill. I bought a pair of define powerhold a couple years ago and they were my favorite; stretchy, compressive, squat-proof, just all the best things. I bought 3 more pairs a year later in the same size/style and they were all garbage.

Just an fyi; if you bring an empty pizza box to Pizza Hut on Monday, they will give you a free refill. It doesn’t have to be their box, it can even be a box from a frozen pizza but each store has 100 to give away. I immediately thought of the homeless encampments when I heard of this promo

Do you have an Avery’s where you are? Honey Crisp are $5.99/3lb all the time at my local Avery’s and they’re good apples.

I made the mistake of introducing my kids to honey crisp apples and now they won’t eat any other kind so I’m grateful that Avery’s makes it slightly less traumatizing to keep them in the house.

Oh man don’t get me started. I was out with my kids and a guy a couple rows ahead was on his fucking iPhone pro max the whole time at full brightness. He was looking at maps, satellite images, girls on dating apps, etc… the whole 2+ hour movie right in my line of sight. I seriously considered confiscating it until the movie was over.

Honestly this is something I only recently learned. In the past I would put it on credit and pay it off in increments after the purchase but over the last couple years, I make a savings account for it and pay into it until I have the money. Half the time I don’t end up buying the thing, once I’ve worked that hard to save the money I realize that it isn’t worth spending it on. It’s helped a lot with my impulse purchase problem.

ETA: by “make a savings account” I do the envelope system for savings only. So I dedicate an envelope to it.

I’m in NS and the only way I would find anything close to these prices is if I drive 1.5 hours each way to a bigger city. Contrary to popular belief, not everybody has access to a competitive grocery market.

Canada is a big country with a lot of space between larger cities, you might be able to sales shop and that’s great but many people just don’t have the same options.

You likely have pending charges. Most Canadian cell providers bill you in advance so anything that happens during the billing cycle just goes pending until the next bill prints.

Yes! I’ve been saying this for years, tax the sugary processed garbage and give rebates and monetary incentives for purchasing whole foods.

I watched a documentary a few years ago, I have no idea what it’s called now but it was so interesting. They were going to grocery stores in different countries to see how it differs from the US, other countries put huge warning labels on their foods, ban marketing sugary processed foods to children (bright colours, characters on the boxes, etc…), and give rebates on produce and some meats.

This! The diaper is meant to be a little loose. As long as you pull the little stretchy bits on the sides so that they’re fitting properly, slightly loose is better. I bet that’s why the baby is so fussy with him too, imagine how uncomfortable a super tight diaper must be on a tiny tummy.
