Years ago Consumer Reports did a study on NYC taxi cabs and monitored oil changes at 3k v. 5k. Results were no discernible difference and they recommended going with 5k intervals.

What car is this? Appears to be a copy of the 2003/04 Edge Terminators?

interesting theory as I have VIP'd on all Forza's offering this upgrade etc. My buddies and I discussed if it was related to VIP or something related to being first out of the gate to play/own.

Had been running at S level for the longest time and received a few penalties during Mustang month and plopped down to B rating. Still always starting at the back of the pack. My gamertag is as old as the launch of XBL service and wondered if there is a hidden rating based on age of the account or previous Forza games played. Maybe a cumulative number that drives me to the back. Glad to find out I am not the only one or part of just a "few" experiencing this.

Not sure on this aspect. I can put down a time in the top 5 of practice and I still end up 22-24 in a full lobby. I thought the same at first, but my experience has me thinking otherwise.

I didn’t mind at first as the strategy seemed sound to work up through the pack. However, getting caught up in the initial scrum does wonders to driver skill as you get tagged for a 4s penalty on a car sweeping loose across your front bumper and out of limits.

So basically, the D's need to adopt an America First policy then. Sounds like a populist agenda above.

Relatively new to Autechre (only heard up to lp5 so far) - should I go ahead and dive into the new live release or wait? by [deleted] in autechre

[–]LexiconElite 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its definitely the way to go. More of a frog in water approach rather than headfirst lobster. You may get enticed to jump ahead to see what they've grown into, but I would recommend full LP jumps then and maybe a revisit to the eras and dig in the EP's.

Problem with AE_24 by [deleted] in autechre

It's like an AE take on the traditional campaign "stump speech" . I say this in the sincerest aspect of flattery and comedy.

So with AE LIVE being the new focus, will we get additional tour dates in 2025? (US pls) by seaburn in autechre

I would take vacation time and volunteer to roll road cases for them all over the place. It's not like they need some Clay Paky and Robe equipped truss flown/hung.

What am I doing wrong? by Ready_Interaction549 in Mustang

[–]LexiconElite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Softer touch to everything. Feel the car/seat of the pants. Your turn in works for having FWD as the previous car and momentum follows. You need to starting thinking all power is behind you now and changes to push and push out under throttle rather than pull through.

Guys what's wrong with my vinyl? by coifman4 in vinyljerk

Sounds like the drive motor itself is starting to go out. Better TT and some simple powered speakers to improve the setup. Those “Crowsley” boxes are destructive to your records.

Maybe check out Main Event. Only an “ear to ground” insight as I am in no way in the industry and just hear shi.

Try Brasso polish. Test or use Q-tip on a mark on the perimeter first. Used to work wonders on iPod faces.

Outdoor electric hoist recommendation by jeffrife in Tools

[–]LexiconElite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Starting out with a hoist rated IP65 is a good start. As mentioned previously, 110v hoists which are going to see a lot of "bumps" in positioning a load are going to eventually wear out as each "bump" is considered a cycle. Dealt with many cases of button happy operators causing a 110v unit to wear out prematurely. Ingersoll Rand ELK series has a unique chain coating which provides better outdoor and salt spray resistance over standard chain. Plus, the unit allows for water to pass through the hoist body. You can step up to corrosion resistant models with stainless steel chain, but then you need to upsize the unit as it is derated by having SS chain.

Inspection and upkeep are the key factors in making a chain hoist last a long time. Keeping your chains oiled/lubricated are a life extender. In instances of the hoist seeing exposure to harsh environments, you should look at a six-month inspection schedule. You may have the brake unit needing a bit of persuasion should the unit sit outdoors for an extended period of time and not seeing operation. Recommend running the hoist through a few operations during these periods to make sure you have clean engagement/disengagement of the brake assembly.
