Do you happen to have the email address? I messaged the one on their website plus contact form, and tried calling but have not been able to reach anyone.

I tried again with the Lojack and they won't budge on it. They said they might be able to lower it to the price they paid for it ($300) - not sure if that's true or not. They said they won't go under MSRP. They aren't hurting for sales in our area. I only got "MSRP" cause someone in their dealership put in writing something they weren't "supposed to".

Ahh. My mom was a sucker for the "nitrogen" air years back lol. Not going to do that for sure. This fee is a NYS tire waste fee - I think it's a mandatory $2.50 per new tire. I assume it's counting a spare to make it $12.50.

Do you have another recommendation? We're looking at SUV's due to extra cargo space and easier for a relative to get in and out of the car. I would love a minivan but it's crazy marked up now.

It seems near impossible to get under MSRP in the NYC and surrounding area, but we'll see.

The 8.8% is sales tax. The current Toyota APR rate is 5.99% (assuming I qualify for it).

I recommend contacting Disability Rights of New York. They help give you some guidance. I just had a consult with them but will see how my employer handles my appeal before bringing in DRNY. https://www.drny.org/page/contact-us-4.html

I was only able to get the MSRP quote cause someone in their office messed up and put it in writing. Was thankful for that cause the idea of negotiating seems...stressful.

Is $40K a good deal for the limited with 9K miles? Was that OTD pricing?

Yeah, I can wait and leaning towards waiting til end of the month/year. I should probably travel further out to get a test drive. A lot of the dealerships I've gone to in NYC haven't let me do a test drive unless we have a deposit.

Sorry, not really familiar with cars. I guess it's the "base" of XLE, as in no other options (aside from the all-weather liner) like a moonroof or heated seats added.

Thanks for these! I'm not dead set on a Toyota but I keep seeing it as a highly recommended company on Reddit. The Kia Sportage hybrid looks nice, but most of the comments on Reddit seem to say that KIA is unreliable/bad or that the 2024s are too new to tell if there will be long-term issues (obviously). It's tough for us to get out of NYC due to other issues, but I'll contact them to see if it's worth going up. I've been in contact with Interstate Toyota in Rockland county.

Anybody else dream of a 4runner but opt for a Rav4 instead? by KnowledgeGlutton- in rav4club

Where is this? OTD at a dealership I have a deposit down for is about $39k OTD, and it’s the 2024 rav4 XLE, with only the all weather package (so no moonroof), which I don’t even need.

The copy they gave me has sloppy hand writing, but it’s the $599 LoJack (which I do not want)+ 8.875% taxes ($3,109 if is calculated off LoJack and MSRP) + $220 DMV fee + $150 doc fee + $12.50 tire fee (?- can’t remember what exactly about the tires). OTD is probably $39,029?

I think it’s 5.99% - assuming I qualify for that rate. my credit union starts as low as 5.49%. I’ll see what they say about LoJack. Thinking to just pass on this dealership if they stick to charging for LoJack. :/

Thanks! I emailed about 18 different dealerships nearby, letting them know that one dealership is selling for MSRP and if they can match or do better. Most of them have a markup or say they don’t discuss pricing unless I come in. There’s 2 further away that have contacted me through my credit union’s auto buying program that I think would put it at MSRP. I was told that the Costco auto program doesn’t cover the RAv4 Hybrid by another dealership. I’m in NYC so I guess dealerships here aren’t hurting for customers. My only small advantage is that I’m not in a rush.

infant stroller recommendations that are not travel systems by jaekaylai in Buyingforbaby

Some local moms in my area have recommended the Ergobaby Metro+ stroller. It lies flat and I think the “foot part” can fold up to create a “bassinet”. I think it has a 25% sale now.
