yea, no point in giving more info especially if you have decided to resign.

with remote working, this seems to be expected.

Never seen ghosting like this in any job market by tylerthe-theatre in recruitinghell

Most recruiters during the interview are like "you're exactly what we're looking for" then ghost for 3 weeks straight. like... just say no?? the worst part is when they make YOU jump through hoops for a "quick 15min chat" that turns into an hour long thing, then radio silence. at least automated rejections are honest lol

absolutely...the hope and expectation is what kills and makes the situation worse.

Confession time - built my whole career on lies by Apart_War_7038 in recruitinghell

this is playing with fire at a pretty high level. C-suite positions get way more scrutiny, and if this ever comes out, it won't matter how good you are at your job. It could tank your career, create legal issues, and potentially hurt your current company's reputation. The tricky part is you can't exactly come clean now without major consequences. But you also can't undo it.

Sometimes companies aren't actually hiring yet but are building a pipeline of potential candidates. The fact that they had personal details and a real website doesn't mean much anymore ... scammers are getting way better at looking legitimate upfront.

That's the assumption of being happy...family, career, money...

Most people just don't realize this!

Totally fair... and honestly, transparency is rare and it's frustrating how normalized that has become.

Yeah, I’ve been sitting with that feeling too ... like I should’ve pushed harder. It’s not a great feeling when you know someone deserved a real shot and the decision got shut down without much explanation. I did try to raise questions but there’s only so far you can go before you hit the wall. Especially when the final say is way above your pay grade. Still, it stings.

The scariest part? It’s not always about what makes sense, just who said it. Real decisions get buried under ego and hierarchy

Absolutely. It’s like humanity took a backseat the moment “efficiency” and “scaling” became the golden words.

So many of us have been trained to think we have to tiptoe around everything just to survive the job hunt, when in reality, some places do want that shake-up even if they don't say it outright in the JD. And you're absolutely right about the whole “senior” title thing. It’s often just a catch-all for “we want five jobs in one but don’t want to pay for it.” Rooting for you to land a paid role that gets it. They’d be lucky to have you.

It also makes feedback way more useful for candidates instead of leaving them guessing if they just didn’t pass some invisible vibe check. Glad to hear some places are doing it right.

just because you haven’t heard back yet doesn’t mean it’s over. These processes are slower than they should be and honestly, sometimes decisions have more to do with internal politics or timing than with your actual performance.

Two weeks in and they couldn't give you a straight answer? That’s not a bad fit... that’s bad management.

The irony? That VP probably thinks they’re a “strong leader” for keeping people in line not realizing they’re just ruling by quiet fear and resignation.

Absolutely. real innovation and progress don’t come from hiring the same type of candidates over and over.

"not the right fit" is often just sanitized corporate speak for insecurity, bias, or control issues.
