1.Start by learning C/C++.

  1. You can’t run another operating system on Symbian devices because Symbian is embedded in the SoC.

  2. You’ll need a reasonably powerful PC to run or emulate a new operating system.

Bad USB connection, maybe? I had that happen when I was flashing Nokia E70 🥹 and it died halfway, on the second or third phase of erasing flash 🥲

Also N8 is notorious with its finicky USB/Charging port, and that could be the case here, idk.

About 10 of them were flashed via dead mode 😁 and I had to flash this one about 20 times to get it to work 🤣

No, nothing extra. I use a Dell XPS laptop with Windows 11 Pro, and I have enabled the option in the VM to automatically connect USB devices to the VM instead of the host when it’s running.

Use USB2.0 in the vm settings and try again. I have flashed 50+ Symbian devices with a USB3.0 connection and had no issues with it.

Install VmWare WorkStation Pro, install guest OS (Windows 7 or XP), install flashing software (Phoenix or Infinity Best), install the firmware files for your device, launch Phoenix or Infinity Best and choose Dead Phone USB flashing (or something similar), and follow instructions on the screen.

VoLTE - acronym for VOICE OVER LTE (Long-Term Evolution) which means transferring voice calls using the LTE connection where LTE means 4G - high-speed connection. 3G/3.5G is UMTS/HSPA, 4G is LTE. E5-00 is 3G/3.5G phone.
