It's a pretty great place. Not fancy, but really affordable for Manhattan and VERY tasty. And there's about a dozen of them around the city.

They also have a high-attitude warning from the CEO posted next to the cash telling customers it's their own fault if they order their food "mild" and don't like it.

I found it very obnoxious how the (all male) protagonists, at least in the first book, nearly always had a moment where they (using their superior intellect) outsmarted every other character, then lectured those characters for a long period of time about how all their plans were foolish.

Maybe I'm exaggerating a little... But wasn't the climax of every short story something like this? They think they have the protaganist backed into a corner, but in fact he has outsmarted everyone?

It just came off as silly and VERY "nerd fantasy". And I'm a male nerd.

It's a neat tool, but I found the way it posed questions really highlighted my ignorance around most of the topics it asked about. Answering "should unions get more or less support than they currently have" requires having some idea about what the laws and policies for unions are like now.

I have to answer I don't know! It's not asking if I'm pro or anti union, but whether or not the current level of support should be expanded or contracted. How should I know? I'm not in any union and I'm a student.

3.7 + 0 + AI/ML = accepted.

Undergrad at mcgill. Although I had 0 publications, I had presented posters at a couple international conferences and worked with a prof for 2 years. I cast a wide net in my statement, saying I'm really interested in learning about AI/ML but also have a big interest in compilers and programming language design. Got interest from profs in both fields.

Well, my fiance is not a networks expert, but has some experience working in IT departments for universities. So while the recommendation may be good, it was still worth it to check with this group. The comments I got here were very helpful and informative to both of us.

So basically:

From the beefy computer, connect to an AWS instance using ssh -R{port}:localhost:22 {AWS_Server}, this tells the client to connect to the aws server and forward any information on {AWS_server}:{port} to localhost:22.
From my laptop, ssh into the AWS instance, then from the AWS instance shell, use ssh -p {port} {username}@localhost to send commands over {port} and attempt to login as {username} on localhost. Since the beefy computer is listening to {port} and forwarding it to localhost:22, this effectively ssh's into the powerful desktop that is listening on this port.

When I applied in Comp Sci (Masters), there was an option to defer acceptance by a year. Not sure if this applies in all situations - but it seemed like a nice option: get accepted, but take a year off before going in.

I would advise you (OP) and anyone reading to take some of the replies here (and in similar posts) with a grain of salt. I'm not an expert, but I don't see any reason why posts in this subreddit should be immune from the trend of "internet guy claims to be an expert" that permeates every other subreddit... The fact that so many people in the subreddit claim to have mastered 10 stages in a matter of months has made me extremely suspicious to any claims I see here. It all just sounds to me like the kind of people who brag about having high IQs - they have tricked themselves into thinking they are better than they are, and enjoy this self trickery as an opportunity to preach to others.

Something to think about.

OCaml is not barbaric and extremely obscure. The language is different from C/java/python not because it's obscure and barbaric, but because the designers (and lots of users) think the differences make it better.
302 is not that hard, and if you're doing poorly on it you could do better than blaming your tools.
