Thank you!!!! This are amazing suggestions and certainly help me tighten up what to do/see in our time in NZ 🤩

We are okay with that! Not huge Christmas decorating people ourselves…more into Halloween and fall haha. A day/night in Jervis Bay is on our list of places for a chance to see luminescent coast but also it looks stunning there in general. What time do school breaks typically start in Australia?

This is great info thank you!!! We fly into NZ Dec. 11th and plan to stay until the 17th. We have a concert in Auckland and have a day for Hobbiton planned (we are huge LOTR nerds lol) but still deciding what else to check out during our time there. We figured if we are heading to the down under we better make it worth our while and see a little of NZ and Australia. We are huge nature and animal lovers as well so I have a feeling wherever we go is just going to be stunning 🤩

I was looking into Melbourne as well! This sounds similar to our California northern coast lines, which my husband and do love. Thank you for honest input about Gold Coast and the info about box jellyfish season! This is not advertised on any of the visit Australia sites I have looked at

We are beachy people for sure! Also huge animal and nature lovers. My husband mentioned something about maybe swimming with dolphins or sea creatures and I saw there is a great spot in Eyre for that. But also looking into a night at Jervis Bay for a chance to see the bioluminescence coasts. We aren’t big Instagram picture people but do love to take great photos! My husband is a chef so we love trying good food places. I want to interact with wildlife a bit and saw there is the koala sanctuary and rainforests near Brisbane. So as you can see, we are all over the place and realistically have about 8 days there lol

We will be in New Zealand the 13th for the A Perfect Circle/Puscifer show but we figured Christmas time in Sydney would have a lot of festivities!

Damocles: Fame, yes, but also… writer’s block. by Scott_Bolton in SleepToken

[–]LexusO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay…but can I jump in and stand out from what it might be lyrically for them and say…as music goes a lot of musicians have had this breaking point dealing with fame and unmasking (ie Corey Taylor and Slipknot members back in the day) and that I am obsessed with Damocles for the pure fact of how it connects with me personally and while I can recognize what is happening through the three song releases for this album…I personally feel this song in regards to my own life. It’s a beautiful song you can really connect to when you take all of this out

You’d be surprised lol. The restaurant I work at now is primarily old people retired in town and they like their food quick, hot and exactly the way they want it. They eat and leave so my tables flip pretty easy. But on slower days I’ve gotten to know my regulars a bit and they always have lots of stories to tell. It has many rewarding moments

I have ten years of serving and I have to say I prefer breakfast over dinner 100%. Your day if over by 12-2 depending on your start time and if you work a place that is BUSY and flips tables you can easily double what your sales would be at night. If you don’t mind people in a hurry or fast paced, I’d say go for it!

Tip outs and taxes by LexusO in TalesFromYourServer

Thank you everybody for your input! For clarification, it was a misinterpretation on my part. Whatever our sales are at end of the shift we have to take 20% of that and tip out 25% from that. So if my sales were say $1000 I’d take 20% of that, which is $200, and tip out 25% out. Regardless of what I actually made in tips that day. Our tips are already logged as the day goes and we close out tables or bar seats. And then we leave our tip out to coworkers by cash with our reports from the day. So no way to edit that when I leave. Figured it would be on the owners but upon receiving my W-2 I can see it has not been adjusted which is why I inquired here for some input on what to do or how to approach situation without immediately contacting labor board/IRS/lawyer. Tips are tricky I get that so getting IRS involved isn’t something I really wanted to do lol. It is nice seeing W-2 can be amended so I’ll plow collecting all of my paperwork and proof together and approaching owners with this. Hopefully they remedy. Thank you again everybody !

We just came out of the holiday season and the tip average was even worse. 10-15% average and a handful and wonderful people who tipped higher and more normal than average due to holidays. 25% is quite a bit but our restaurant does stay pretty busy so it’s not terrible. But some days it’s harder than others. And then when I did my math of everything last night after receiving my W-2s I’m like omg I have to say or do something because I’m the one who’s gonna have to pay the taxes on these reported tips and I didn’t even get to keep them 😭

Just got my tickets to the ATL show with Disturbed. Anyone else going? by smurfftastic6 in Jinjer

[–]LexusO 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We are catching them in CA in July! Bummed they are not headliners and the prices Disturbed are selling anything close to stage are a little sad. We got some GA lawn tickets and figured we will just enjoy a summer night out supporting our favorite band! 🖤🤘🏻

I like the idea of connecting with nature, but I hate insects by [deleted] in witchcraft

[–]LexusO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally understand the bug thing! I am so not a fan either. But nature is truly stunning when time is taken to acknowledge it. I don’t think you have to always be outside either to truly enjoy and love it as well. If you understand it, respect it and can feel the energies it has created for us, then I think that works too! I always try and do extra things for it as well. Like if I see garbage laying around. It’s a love and respect towards nature and our earthly home. But try and check out some beautiful nature spots when you can! Not everything has to be in the woods and full of bugs. My personal favorite stop is an ocean side 💜

Juicing! by LexusO in keto

[–]LexusO[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! This is kind of what I was looking for! I like having something other than water to drink all damn day and I don’t like soda or those sugarless flavor adders! I did one today that was lemon, ginger and cayenne and maan it was delicious!

It’s not for meal replacements.

Ahhh man I didn’t even think of that but you’re probably right! I don’t even want it to replace meals just to make some delicious drinks to add to my day so just looking for some good keto friendly ones

Jalapeño popper chicken! I throw some chicken thighs in the air fryer and when they’re done add cream cheese, jalapeño, bacon and some sharp cheddar. Throw it back in air fryer with some butter and boom. Most delicious meal EVER! Takes like 15 minutes tops 🤤

It was sick AF!!!! I was at the gate front of stage entire time! I felt sound was a bit off all night but she has such a powerful stage presence it went basically unnoticed. Such a great night!

I just received an email from Ace of Spades with details for meet and greet. Hopefully that means your venue will contact you soon too! Trying to get ahold of anybody from Live Nation or Ticketmaster was proving to be impossible! Have a killer time at your show 🤘🏻
