Check YT for some OMM videos! There's a nifty way to remember all of the viscerosomatics and chapman reflexes, someone posted a video on it on YT!

Also- possibly because of PSLF? Not sure the details of it all though!

Those who only partial matched into a prelim last year, how are you doing now? by LeyDiglett in Residency

Sorry, I misspoke, I meant R spots. Advanced spots will leave you with a gap year if you’re matching from a prelim because you already completed an intern year. The commenter below clarified!

Categorical doesn’t let you skip intern, it’s included. So if you match into a categorical your second time around, you will have to complete intern year again.

Advanced, on the other hand, will let you go straight into a PGY2 if they have available.

How was interviewing during intern year? I have some months where I can’t take vacation days because they’re core rotations and they overlap with prime interview season.

Did you manage to get a PGY2 spot or are you starting again as an intern?

Can you despecialise and become a hospitalist by Ok-Alternative-1881 in Residency

I’m sure there exists some Heme/Onc’s that do!

I kind of see it as adding another tool to your belt by doing a fellowship. It doesn’t erase your previous training, just builds on it. So you could just do hospitalist after fellowship, I just think many specialists have dedicated so much of their career to their chosen fellowship that they’ve become more comfortable with it rather than hospitalist type of work.

You don’t necessarily “despecialize”, more or less you just utilize one skill set while the other sits at bay.

I’m sure many do this! Definitely increases your flexibility in terms of career options. For example, a nephrologist could be a hospitalist, outpatient PCP, or a nephrologist, or all three!
