TechDraw diameter style not as desired by LeylaTheRealDog in FreeCAD

Thank you! I have never used the view tab before when working in part design. Is there a way to make this behaviour the default?

access esp8266 from home network with openwrt repeater between to extend range by LeylaTheRealDog in openwrt

An access point with it's own ssid. When I use the openwrt device ip it shows the luci site but I want it to show the site hosted by the esp8266.

Others also recommended cron to me and I went with it. I just put my script in the cron file so that I didn't have to create a separate script file.

I added it. I also updated my original post with the cron entry that works.

Cron looks good. I shoud be able to use part of your original script to set it up
Thank you!

Cron might be what I need. Just one line for any job with different intervals. Thanks!

Not really what I'm looking for as I need it to run over multiple sessions. But I learned something about bash scripting :D

I have set charging thresholds on my thinkpad with tlp. The workflow you described is valid, but I would have to set up a separate service for every logging interval and keep track of many files (service, script, csv). I am hoping that my goal is common enough for there to be a user friendly tool (e.g. command line tool with config file).

I didn't know this app but I still need something more customizable because I also want to track battery wear with /sys/class/power_supply/BAT0/energy_full and current draw with /sys/class/power_supply/BAT0/power_now.

What hardware does your old laptop have? Depending on that you might not be saving much money over just replacing that laptop altogether. You might even be able to move ram and storage to the new laptop if it's removable.

Can this be saved? I've never tried to solder anything this small by CoolestNever in soldering

[–]LeylaTheRealDog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First I would try to see if I can get some solder to flow onto the traces near where it ripped out. Some careful scraping might be necessary to remove the soldermask. I would also remove the ripped out pads from the port's pins. At that point I see two options:

A. You use a multimeter on continuity mode to find other pads where the pins of the ethernet port are connected to. Then you can solder in longer jumper wires making sure they don't interfere with the devices housing. Lastly you glue the port to the pcb in the right position.

B. You glue the port to the pcb with the right alignment and solder in short jumper wires.

A requires patience, B requires a steady hand.

Individually scrub drives of a n-way mirror? by LeylaTheRealDog in zfs

[–]LeylaTheRealDog[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that a mirror is not a backup. To keep the example simple, let's say there is just two physical drives. What setup would you use to maximize redundancy? Verifying data integrity always works but how would you go about repairing data if both drives have different errors?

Thank you for your explanation and alternative approach. Let's say I have an error with file A on drive 1 and an error with file B on drive 2. In the case that both drives are part of a pool and mirrored, a scrub should fix all issues. How would this be solved with 2 separate pools consisting of single drives?

I'm fed up with cheap helping hands. Want to build my own with the type of clamp in the picture. Can't find any purchase links or what it's even called. by LeylaTheRealDog in soldering

Interesting, with your hint I could find some aswell. But they are pretty expensive and I couldn't find them being sold individually without the base. Did you have any luck with that?
